Alba Botanica Hawaiian Deep Conditioning Minute Mask Review

I have dry and frizzy hair and deep conditioning my hair is an essential step in my shampoo routine. Hot oil massage prior to head wash and a hair mask as a last step in the shampoo routine helps to control frizz to an extent. I try hair masks from different brands and in this post, I am reviewing Alba Botanica Hawaiian Deep Conditioning Minute Mask. Read on to find out if it’s a good hair care product or not.

My Experience with Alba Botanica Hawaiian Deep Conditioning Minute Mask:

I am exclusively trying out hair products that are devoid of sulphates, parabens, chemicals and so on. That is why I started using products by Devacurl, Ouidad and so on, and I also avoid heat styling my hair. Deep conditioning is also recommended for frizzy, wavy hair like mine, so decided to try the product in this review. The product comes in a 5.5 oz tub packaging with a screw on lid on top. The tub is yellow in color and has the product writings on the sticker and the ingredients present in the mask. The product claims to be for dry, damaged, brittle hair, it is pH balanced and has no harsh sulfates.

I shampoo my hair after hot oil treatment. I usually let the oil sit overnight and then shampoo the next day. I start with my scalp and then work my way down. I take a small amount of shampoo and create lather to wash my scalp and then work the lather down to my hair ends. I do this process twice and no more to avoid stripping my hair of all the oil. I used a coat button size amount of shampoo twice to rinse my hair and followed it with this deep conditioner. I take a big scoop of this product and apply it from roots to the ends of my hair and leave it on for 10 minutes and then thoroughly rinse it off of my hair.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Deep Conditioning Minute Mask texture

This product claims to deeply condition hair and aids in restoring damaged strands and fix split ends. The rich and creamy formula contains water and an oil base. It contains sunflower oil, jojoba seed oil, cocoa seed butter, soy protein and shea butter and combination of these oils adds moisture to my hair and controls frizz. It also contains some hair conditioning ingredients such as pineapple extract, papaya extract, mango fruit extract, cranberry seed oil, broccoli seed oil and so on. This product makes my hair easy to detangle and soft and smooth. It also has a very subtle pleasant fragrance, but it does not linger for long. However, it performed like a regular hair conditioner but not like a deep conditioning hair mask. I still had more frizz and dryness as compared to other hair masks that I have been trying and also the hair ends appeared dry and the split ends were more prominent. It failed to perform as a deep conditioning mask and is not a hair product that I recommend.
