How are you doing today? I am back again to share my past purchases with you all which proved their worth during my trip. My skin is quite sensitive and to top over it, I had to leave my home comfort for 2-3 long months with almost 12 hours body clock difference! And, by the time I reached Delhi, the whole north India was shivering with sudden cold & thunders; thanks to global warming! I had thought that it would be warm and hot. It, naturally, took a toll over our skin & body, though I was already prepared for the worst of climatic conditions and I had a whole army of skin care & hair care products to fight against odds! And, I am glad that my fighters didn’t let me down even with such sudden climate changes.

I made regimen of skin care right from eye care to lip care apart from facial skin with many backup products (to fight all skin/ageing enemies) which helped me to fetch quite impressive compliments from my family. It was real joy to hear that I looked exactly same to my saasuland members like they saw me four years back on our wedding. *shy* Anyway, without any further ramblings, let me introduce first the unsung hero of my trip, Alba Botanica Hawaiian Organically Moisturizing Passion Fruit Nectar Lip Balm. I already like my previous Alba Botanica Hawaiian Coconut Cream Lip Balm and this Passion Fruit one is just another fabulous lip product that really helped me get soft and plump lips throughout the day. My Experience with Alba Botanica Hawaiian Organically Moisturizing Passion Fruit Nectar Lip Balm:

The packaging is just like other lip balms by Alba Botanica. Like Coconut Cream, in this one too I have seen that the retractable packaging refuses to retract back after only certain amount of product is left. But, it’s manageable and not much bothering. I like their tight shut small sleek packaging which can easily slip inside our clutch or wallet.

Coming to its performance, during my temporary stay apart from jet lag phase, another one issue which I constantly dealt with was drying of my lips. Despite drinking bottles of water, I always observed a thin dry film over my lips for few initial weeks! Thankfully, I started with this lip balm which effectively transformed my dry, patchy skin into soft one and gave it a rosy tint. I had to use it more frequently for better and long lasting results. Even I had to skip using lip stains and lipstick for initial days, but once I started using this lip balm, I never felt any issues.

In fact, I started wearing it beneath every lip color. Moreover, I already declared it is one of heroes of my lip care regimen which not only helped me to get soft juicy lips, but also prevented pigmentation and dry patches throughout my stay in India. Amazing, isn’t? However I used it in conjunction with my Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask which was my night time hero that healed my skin overnight while this lip balm looked after my dry, wilted lips during day time in sudden cold-summers around.

I usually hear that frequent usage of deep pigmented lip colors often leave their signs on our delicate lip skin, but I am lucky that my lips look subtle and soft with no pigmentation even when I wear red & pink lip colors almost every day. I guess that wearing lip balm beneath stubborn lip colors helped me to prevent various issues regarding pigmentation and/or further drying as I hardly felt need of lip scrubbing more than once in a week unlike 2-3 times usually.

This lip balm smells heavenly sweet which is not overpowering and never mingles with your lip products. The plus point is that it is transparent and almost invisible on my lips. This makes it a keeper for every makeup junkie. I think I wore it every day either underneath my lip color or alone with no lip color at all and it always gave me soft, hydrated lips with no pigmentation or parched skin at all. It is equally effective in summers as well as winters as I witnessed scorching heat by the onset of April in Delhi which resulted in dehydration. But, my lips remained moist & soft, all thanks to this lip balm!

I would highly recommend this lip balm to everyone. I am not sure if it works great for everyone, but it certainly helps to achieve picture perfect soft juicy lips irrespective of the season and skin type. I will definitely get it again once I finish off my current back-up stock as well.

• It gives transparent sheen on lips which does not mingle with any lip color.
• It is quite effective in preventing drying, parched skin due to environmental conditions such as excessive dehydration or cold shock.
• It gives long lasting hydrated skin unlike other lip balms.
• It also prevents pigmentation when worn under lip color – tried & tested.
• It does not cause any bleeding of lip color when worn under makeup.
• It does not increase the wear time of lip colors, but it gives picture perfect pout.
• It not only helped me to achieve soft hydrated lips during cold weather, but also provided flush of hydration during scorching heat wave of Northern India.
• Quite user friendly, retractable packaging at fairly good price.

Cons of Alba Botanica Hawaiian Organically Moisturizing Passion Fruit Nectar Lip Balm:

• Requires frequent usage for initial days to see results.
• It lacks SPF.
• I am not sure how it will fair on overtly dry parched skin in winters.
• After several usage, the product refuses to retract back inside the packaging which might be bothering.

Conclusion:
To be honest, I hardly bother about these cons, other than the lack of SPF content. It is a very moisturising lip balm that works great in all the seasons. Also, it’s formulation is excellent and I have experienced amazing results with it. This lip balm is my hero and deserves my attention all around the year!
