Today I will be reviewing a product, which has become a part and parcel of my skin care regimen.I am sure we all agree that throughout the week, we literally slog…and so does our poor skin. So weekends are for some serious skin yoga 😉

But before we go about some skin pampering, we must slough off the dead skin cells that clog our pores .They basically neither let the bad stuff get out of our skin, nor let the good stuff in. But we all know that! Duh what are scrubs for! 😛 Unfortunately there are some poor souls like me, who have a really sensitive skin and God forbid you have acne on top of it!! In such cases, scrubs are just too abrasive and irritating for the skin. This is where this awesome product comes in: The Alba Botanica Pore-Fecting Papaya Enzyme mask.

Directions

Smooth a thin layer of mask evenly over clean face and neck. Leave on for 5 minutes (will not dry on skin) and rinse thoroughly.

My Experience with Alba Botanica Pore-fecting Papaya Enzyme Facial Mask

Cutting straight through the chase: I feel this pore-fecting mask is perfect!! It is a soft gel, which must be applied in a thin even layer on the face. I leave it on for 5- 7 minutes and gently wash it off with cold water. What this gel does is amazing, its active enzymes gently loosen up dead skin and help “surface’ new skin. Only a small amount is needed, and a tub of the product is seriously going to last, like ages!

When I apply it, I feel slight tingling. There is a bit stinging on the dry patches of the skin…but nothing too serious. After I wash it off, my face feels warm and smooth. I imparts a subtle glow to the skin. The skin does not feel dry or for that matter oily. I gives a nice clean matte feel. I have felt that over the past few weeks, the small pores around my nose have shrunk. It’s a nice and gentle exfoliator and skin smoothener. Over a period of time, there has been a very slight improvement in uneven skin tone too.

Having said that, I really don’t think it is suitable as a heavy duty scrub. Those people, who are suffering from whitehead/black head issues, might find it too mild to work. One thing that I really hold against this product is the tub packaging. *hunter* It’s unhygienic and makes me wonder how many of the enzymes would have actually survived. But till the time it is working for me, I have made my peace with it.

I would definitely recommend it to those who like mild exfoliator and those who have sensitive skin. Those who like heavy duty scrubs…can give this a miss.
