Alberto Balsam Anti-oxidant Pomegranate Shampoo Review

Hi IMBB Beauties! This is my first ever post on IMBB. So before I could write on any product I love I thought I should warn you (anyone who intends to buy this) from some horrible shampoo.

I have this unavoidable love towards any products that are pink in color and are cutely packed irrespective of I use them or not. (I buy most of the pink colored face creams / lotions meant for dry skin, and I have an oily combination skin. So I end up using them for my hands). The same love for pink color got me a wonderfully smelling shampoo(yes, it has a lovely smell) which boasted about anti oxidant properties. These are easily available at ‘health & glow’ outlets.

alberto balsam anti-oxidant pomegranate shampooNO! don’t get misled by looking at the quantity left in the bottle. I am using it as foot soak for my pedicures. Now coming to what the product boasts

The Shampoo claims :

• It’s prepared from the extracts of pomegranate seeds.
• It has anti oxidant properties which makes your hair healthy and shiny.
• Herbal
• Gentle for everyday use.

We all know the how good pomegranate is & its anti oxidant properties and we certainly love it. But mind you, I used it not more than 3 times and I can actually feel the drastic worst effects it left. I doubt if they really have any anti oxidant properties & if its really really been extracted from pomegranate seeds.

Pros of Alberto Balsam Anti-oxidant Pomegranate Shampoo:

• Some I already mentioned
• the color
• smell( I truly loved the way my hair smelled after every wash, its not very strong though)

I personally did not find anything nice (forget about great, I cannot even say a generous good) about this.

Cons of Alberto Balsam Anti-oxidant Pomegranate Shampoo:

dry frizzy hair
• If I have to say it, they can actually target this to customers who love hair fall & enjoy  dry frizzy hair.
• Even After the first wash I realized hair fall, but I linked it with the change in whether.
• The next day my hair was so rough & dry & I was foolishly cursing the winters.
• After the second wash when the same things repeated, I started doubting the shampoo but I wanted to be sure so I used it for the third time. (Crazy, yes)
• By this time, I lost more than 10% of my hairs or even more. And the hairs felt as if I can use it as a scrubber to wash my dishes(No, I am not exaggerating).
If my normal to oily hair’s condition is this, imagine what it does for dry hair!

I don’t even want to rate this! If you have used this product before, please rate in the box below!

  1. Welcome to IMBB! I bought a variant of Alberto Balsam, can’t remember which one and thoroughly regretted it. Smelled nice and everything but didn’t do a thing for my frizzy hair. God, they should shut this brand altogether!

    1. Thank you Anuya :)) Either they should shut this brand or stop it calling shampoo & say foot soak or make up brush cleaner or tap cleaner(as Natasha said) 😛

  2. Veda, when it comes to shampoos i don’t even look left or right and always buy them from the body shop. they suit me a lot :)) i like the shade of the lmatte ipstick (purplish-brownish-brickish) that the model in your picture is wearing- me matte lover

    1. Thank you Natasha, i am actually eyeing the body shop shampoo. But after this shampoo’s effect just too scared to try anything new. 🙂 . You have good observation skills. I had to scroll back 2 see what the model was wearing. :X-P:

  5. Hi Veda, good review. I too had unfortunately bought an alberto balsam shampoo (i think it was strawberry). I completely agree with your review, it was awful. I used it only once. The smell of that was so sweet & cloying, that I just couldn’t stand it. I recently got rid of it. Worst shampoo ever!!

  6. lotta people were tricked by the color and the smell :yelo: :yelo: :yelo:
he he, am loyal to my garnier for almost 6 years now :nerd: :nerd:

  7. he he he ! all of us in the lifetime goes through such mishaps ! i once picked “coronation fruit pack ” (inspite of reviewing all good fruit pack (biotique himalaya lotus herbal here ! :bully: simple coz it was economical and thanks to the pack i developed rashes and bad realy bad acne ! :reallypissed:

  8. I totally 560 agree with you, worst hair shampoo ever!!! i still kept using it think my hair was at fault. how stupid of me. this is a horrendous shampoo. i don’t know why they need to give it such good packing, name and the colour…and the mention of pomegranate and anti-oxidant made me purchase it. let me tell you , i have really good hair and even i had hairfall with this….brrrrr!!!!

  9. thank you so much for posting this review, i found myself having the same problem. i used it once and my hair was falling a little bit, so i thought was due to the weather change. i used it again today and thought that its not normal for my hair to react like this .
so glad that i found your review, i would have continued thinking that its the season change
