The thing about moving to a new country is that it gives you lots of anxiety and stress which, in turn, leaves marks on your skin and body. When we shifted to UK three months back from Bangalore, my skin and hair started behaving strangely as if they were strongly against this change. My skin broke out horribly and dandruff started appearing even before winter. My Matrix shampoos (Deep Smoothing and Anti Dandruff) were not helping either (they were working wonders in ‘namma Bengaluru’) to improve my hair condition. So, I picked up this Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo to combat my dandruff issue and dry scalp. Let’s begin the review.
I found it interesting, specially the last part 😉
The Tea Tree Tingle shampoo will make you wants to leap out of bed and awaken of your senses, leaving your hair feeling minty fresh. It uses most of the same ingredients you’ll find in higher priced brands, but at a great price which means you can afford to look glamorous everyday! Hair smells as good as it feels!
• Gently Cleanses
• Invigorating for healthy looking hair & refreshed feeling scalp
• With strengthening pro-vitamin B5

My Experience with Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo:
I’ve very thick (touchwood) and straight hair which I had chopped off 3 months back. So, my hair now touches just the bottom of my neck. So, basically I’ve short hair. I’ve used this shampoo many times by now, but still I haven’t finished even half of it. Little is enough for my short hair. The shampoo is light green in color and texture is like liquid soap. Like I had mentioned before, dandruff is paying me an early visit, but the problem is not that severe. My problem area is around my forehead only and the rest of my head is dandruff free actually. I don’t prefer using anti dandruff shampoos as they make my hair look very dry and dull. So, I was happy when I found this shampoo which has “invigorating for healthy looking hair and scalp” mentioned on its bottle.
It’s a mild shampoo, therefore, suitable for daily use. Alberto Balsam shampoo lathers well on wet hair. And, the good thing is that it washes off easily. So, you wouldn’t have to spend much time under the shower during winter. Though it has mint as one of its ingredients, it doesn’t feel cold on scalp. It doesn’t make my hair look dry or damaged even if I don’t use conditioner on some days. My hair and scalp does look healthy, shiny and hydrated. My hair remains clean for 2-3 days if I stay indoors. But, that will depend on the type of scalp you have. Although, it claims to be a “Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo”, I haven’t felt any tingling sensation on my scalp.
It smells like a toothpaste which is a bit weird. But, if you want to avoid the side effects of anti dandruff shampoos, then you wouldn’t mind the minty smell. This minty smell does feel refreshing during summer and goes away after one day. And, still if you’re totally against the minty smell, you can use a conditioner from a different brand whose fragrance you like. That way, you can get both! This shampoo has worked for my hair and I don’t see myself switching to another shampoo until this one finishes.
Pros of Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo:
• Super cheap
• Doesn’t take away moisture from hair
• Gives healthy looking hair and scalp
• Plastic bottle is recyclable
• Can be used daily
Cons of Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo:
• None, except the toothpaste like smell
