My Experience with Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara:
Last month when my friend had gone to the U.S. for a family vacation, I had given her a long list of products to get for me from there. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, she fell ill there and therefore could not get any of the products I had wanted, but still as a sweet gesture, she gave me some of the products which she had bought for herself on the day they landed there.
I have never used or even heard of anything from this brand, so I searched for it on Google first and came to know that it is owned by Revlon and the products are quite famous there. In fact, I quite liked the range of products on the official website of Almay.
Coming back to the mascara, I was a bit wary of using it since I do not own any make up remover and the pack specifically mentions to remove this using Almay eye makeup remover. Since my skin is sensitive and my eyes are super sensitive, I don’t use any makeup remover nor any waterproof mascaras, but I knew I would end up using it as I cannot keep a new product or gift in packed condition on the shelf for long, I get that urge to use it and see how it is and end up using it! So, when I was taking pictures for this review, I applied this mascara to my lashes and wow, it truly is volumising and thickening. My lashes were luking denser and thicker after just one application. Also, there was absolutely zero clumping. And it doesn’t smudge either. The applicator makes for easy application and the shape is such that even the corner lashes are covered. I also liked the staying power of the mascara. After 4 hours, I could see that the mascara was flaking. So, two days back, when I had to go out for a party, I first applied Vaseline on my lashes, waited for sometime and then applied the mascara and it did not flake this time.
While I was washing my face, I noticed that there was no effect of the water on the mascara. I tried removing it with olive oil and voila, it removes pretty easily with the oil, so there’s no need for any eye makeup remover. I also like that it doesn’t have any particular smell and whatever smell I get on opening the lid is also very mild.
Let me sum up the pros and cons of the product for you:
