My Experience with Almay Intense I-Color Smoky-I For Greens Eyeshadow Palette:
Packaging: The eyeshadow trio comes in a small three-pan palette. The color meant for the eyelid is shaped to look like an eyelid. The palette has a transparent lid which closes securely making it travel friendly. The transparent lid makes it easier to see the colors in the palette without having to open the lid. It is small enough to carry in your handbag, if needed.
The palette comes with two tiny sponge tip applicators. You would do better with your own brush as these applicators are very, very small. The label on the back of the palette has some instructions with an image, depicting which portion of the eyelid each color should go on. This is really helpful for beginners.
Colors and Finish: The brow bone shade is a shimmery light peachy color. You can highlight under the brow and in the inner corner of the eye, but make sure not to over-use this shade under the brows, as it may look overly frosty.
The crease shade is a satin medium grey with a hint of olive. The eyelid shade is a satin purple brown color. These three colors together create a really pretty purple-brown smoky look.
Pigmentation: All the shadows in this palette have good pigmentation, but they are not so dark that you would end up with a dramatic smoky eye. It gives a more subtle look.
Texture: The texture of these shadows is quite soft and is quite easy to blend. You may find a little fall out. As with any eye shadow, make sure you tap the excess off your brush before you apply the color on the eyelid.
Longevity: With a primer, this lasts on my oily lids for over 7 hours, after which it starts fading.
Pros of Almay Intense I-Color Smoky-I For Greens Eyeshadow Palette:
- Beautiful colors for an easy purple-brown smoky look.
- Helpful instructions for beginners to create the look.
- Soft texture with a satiny finish.
- Easy to blend.
- Decent pigmentation and lasting power.
Cons of Almay Intense I-Color Smoky-I For Greens Eyeshadow Palette:
- A base/primer is mandatory to prevent creasing and fading.
Do I Recommend Almay Intense I-Color Smoky-I For Greens Eyeshadow Palette?
This is a decent trio for creating a quick purple-brown smoky eye. Though it is marketed as made for green eyes, the color combination would look good on any eye color. Do pick it up if you are an eye makeup beginner and want to try out a simple smoky eye.
