The Alyssa Ashley brand name was created in the U.S.A during the 60’s by a contemporary artist whose youngest daughter was Alyssa and whose nickname was Ashley because of her perfectly blond hair. This moisturizer dates back to the mid 1990’s, when one of the most interesting new trends in the perfume industry was the use of Vanilla as a top note rather than being just a base note.
Alyssa Ashley Vanilla Hand & Body Moisturiser is a gentle lotion which will tone and moisturise your skin, leaving it feeling smooth and soft and smelling like our vanilla perfume.
My Experience with Alyssa Ashley Vanilla Hand and Body Moisturiser:
I got this as a gift from a friend who had come down from the US. Oh, don’t we all love friends! 😛 I love vanilla notes in perfumes and so this was love at first ‘sniff’. It has got an adorable mix of vanilla’s major notes with slight citrusy notes, along with jasmine hopping along. If you don’t have such a powerful nose, you would notice only the yummy vanilla. It is a subtle, lovely fragrance that is not at all overpowering or artificial.
Now, the colour is slightly brown. I do not know if it is supposed to be like that or if my friend picked up a fake product because usually, moisturizers are white, right? I assume it is not fake because the fragrance is just enchanting and cheap companies cannot replicate such a beautiful & delectable fragrance!
The moisturizing ability is very good for a lotion (you know, I have to always rely on thick creams or butters). It takes some time to get absorbed and the optimal hydration of the skin is reached within 30 minutes after application. My skin stays smooth and healthy for almost the entire day. It has got soothing oils and emollients in abundance, thus making it really effective on skin prone to dryness.
They have retained the clean and the elegant theme of their white chubby musk moisturizer bottle and have added a yellow splash for the vanilla. But, it maybe a little too simple for such an expensive product. Not just this particular variant, but all of their bottles are extremely simple and plain. It actually reminds me of a vanilla ice-cream fat tub.
Pros of Alyssa Ashley Vanilla Hand and Body Moisturiser:
• Amazing vanilla smell.
• Good moisturizing ability.
• Skin stays hydrated for the whole day.
Cons of Alyssa Ashley Vanilla Hand and Body Moisturiser:
• Takes some time to get fully absorbed.
• Boring bottle design for such an expensive lotion.
• It is slightly brown, which I think is a little weird.
Would I Repurchase Alyssa Ashley Vanilla Hand and Body Moisturiser?
Not really. As a gift, it was fine. That’s all about it.
Would I Recommend Alyssa Ashley Vanilla Hand and Body Moisturiser?
There’s nothing great about this other than the yummy vanilla fragrance. So, I don’t think you should actually go out and buy this.
