5 Amazing Uses of Coffee You Probably Never Knew

No matter how many times we are told to stay away from that morning cup of coffee, we always come up with an excuse to get our hands on one! Everyone who has ever tried giving up coffee, raise your hand! Yes, I am looking at you, missy! Don’t worry, I have got you covered. For your next bout of anti-caffeine resolutions, soak up on your favourite “wake up” scent in the following beautiful ways.

1. Pamper those locks

Does your hair feel heavy and appear dull? Then it definitely needs some desperate pampering! Look no further than your kitchen cabinet; it’s time to whip up some hair rinse and all you need is black coffee. Simply prepare a large cup of black coffee and pour on your flipped over hair before shampooing and conditioning.
Bonus Tip: Reserve this hair rinse routine for Mondays for it requires an extra kick. Your head will feel a lot lighter. 🙂

2. Treat your scalp

Simply take some ground coffee and massage onto your scalp in a circular motion. Follow up with a shampoo and conditioner. This works in the same way as a face or body scrub – it removes the excess buildup. The removal of excess build up in the scalp is very important for proper hair growth. The caffeine in the coffee helps to stimulate the hair follicles and thereby helps with hair fall issues.

3. Eliminate under eye bags

Missed on your beauty sleep? No worries, now you can fake a good night’s sleep! This caffeine goodness is not only a pick-me-up for your brain, it can do wonders for those puffy eyes too.
Step 1- Brew some coffee, Drink it (duh!)
Step 2- Save the coffee grounds (from your brew)
Step 3- Let the granules cool down and apply on your eye area, and relax for 10 minutes

Bonus Tip- I recommended listening to some music in the meantime. *Baby ko base pasand hai* Anyone? No? Ok.

4. Fight cellulite

If you’re still not aware of this amazing use for coffee, well, you might as well be living under a rock. Mix coffee granules with some olive oil or coconut oil and sugar and massage in a circular motion. This helps in reducing the appearance of cellulite over time.

5. Scrub away

Now that you know that the caffeine in coffee helps in blood circulation, add ground coffee to all your DIY lip scrubs, foot scrubs, body scrubs, and face scrubs. A simple coffee and coconut oil scrub will do wonders to your skin. By using coffee in the scrubs, you make it antioxidant-rich, which helps in fighting free radicals that damage your skin and ages it. Regular application of coffee scrubs increases the production of elastin and collagen. Also, slather on some coffee scrub if you tend to spend a great number of hours in the sun since coffee applied topically helps in reversing the sun damage.

Ingredients-
⦁ 1 tablespoon of ground coffee
⦁ 1 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil (even almond oil) or if skipping oil use yoghurt instead
⦁ 1 tablespoon sugar (white or brown)
Now since most of these ingredients are already in your kitchen, go ahead and drown in the amazing smell of coffee. Really, don’t tell me you need a push in the behind for COFFEE! Come on!

  1. Wow, never knew coffee had such benefits. I use coffee labelled de-caffeinated, but how far it is ….. dunno and yes I drink coffee in the evening, morning I need my phodinawali chai (tea prepared with mint leaves). Babe ok base pasand hai ????, I like that number. Thanks Aakriti for the tips. ??

  2. I can now do something with the ground coffee that I throw away and if it helps clean my scalp, what more do I need? Super tips. Thanks!
