Green tea can solve most of the health and beauty related problems. I drink green tea regularly in the morning and I can really see the difference in my skin. I am also doing DIY green tea facial, since last 3 months and I do it in every 15 days. I swear, it has reduced my freckles and blemishes visibly. British Super model Sophie Dahl’s attributed her weight loss, partly to drinking regular cups of green tea. Green tea raises the metabolic rate and speeds up fat oxidation. It also reduces cholesterol levels and zinc inhibiting the digestion of fat in the intestine.

Bath Soak:

Toss a couple of tea bags of green tea in a bucket of warm water. The bath water is ready, when the water is tinted greenish in color. You can also add few drops of any essential oil to maximize the effect and fragrance. The vitamins and minerals released into the water nourishes and moisturizes the skin and increase the elasticity of the skin. Green tea bath also soothe sunburns, razor burns, nicks and cuts.

Facial Scrub:

The slightly rough texture of green tea acts as an natural exfoliate. Mix half tablespoon of dry grounded green tea with 1 tablespoon of honey to make a thick paste. Now, apply this paste all over your face and leave for 10-15 minutes. Then massage in soft circular motions. Finally, rinse with water. It will remove dead skin, dirt and tan from face and render a nice glowing skin.

Using it for a hair rinse helps you eliminate dandruff and psoriasis. It accelerates hair growth and protects hair from pollution and harsh chemicals. It also, makes hair shiny and glossy. Simmer 3-4 tea bags in 1 liter of boiling water for about an hour. Let it cool and use this liquid as a final rinse after shampoo and conditioner.

    Well written and amazing DIY. Few months backs i got a box of green tea,i drank for few days but then realized i was having caffeinated green tea. So, is caffeinated green tea effective and will work fine for DIY?

    1. Hello Neelam,
      yes, you can drink caffeinated green tea. It works the same. It is also very beneficial for dark circles and wrinkles under eye.

  2. hi priyanka …. thats such a wonderful article … I mainly use it as a toner n o m liking it so far … I m quite interested in trying my hand on the scrub … wil do pretty soon …. bdw for scrub should I use the used tea bag or a new one??

    1. Hello Nazima,
      If you want to use green tea as a scrub and you cannot find ground green tea leaves you can put one tea bag in half glass of boiling water and after the liquid cools down you can mix some sugar in 3-4 tbsp of green tea liquid, and use the rest as final facial rinse. 🙂

  3. Hey Shreya, sorry my question is little off track but would like to know …What type of green tea is more effective, the ready made tea bags OR The organic green tea?
