Amorepacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Eye Treatment Gel Review

Hi gals..

How are you all! Today I am here to share another purchase which is an impulse buy that too from my hubby gurrrr… We had been to one of complimentary make over events from Amorepacific sometime back and while those porcelain dolls were busy with my make over, my hubby could not avoid falling for the sales girls gimmicks splurging in Amorepacific moisture bound eye treatment gel and hydra fresh oil free gel. I just stood up with fresh make- over but my face was red hot like burning fire.. 😛 I just kept mum and agreed to spare him only if he keeps his nose out of my future unlimited shopping trips. Anyways, enough of my blabbering, let me share my hubby’s first impulse buy for me, a deeply hydrating and soothing eye treatment gel from Amorepacific, a Korean brand which is gaining popularity worldwide! Please read on further to know more about Amorepacific moisture bound rejuvenating eye treatment gel..

Before we talk about their products, let me share a brief introduction of Amorepacific brand with you all, (all information is sourced from net): Amorepacific is a leading cosmetic brand in South Korea and is popular in other Asian countries and beyond. Their skin care products hit sephora store in mid 2009. And their products are hugely popular and clamored among Korean people in US as well as in Korea. In their own words “Asian Botanicals are the core of AMOREPACIFIC skincare. Believing that beauty secrets are found in nature, we unearth the wisdom of Asian Botanicals and use these ingredients bamboo sap, red Ginseng and green tea, in the ultimate skin care products. ”

Product description: A unique gel-cream formula that treats the delicate eye area. Formulated to hydrate and fill-in fine lines, while reducing puffiness and dark circles, helping to maintain a youthful, rested appearance.

Packaging: This off white thick eye gel comes in classy small tub packaging with heavy and attractive cap. It looks really luxurious and lavishing at first sight irrespective of product inside! It seems travel friendly and is mildly scented which is not over powering. This moisture bound range of Amorepacific targets early signs of ageing hence I believe it is optimum for all gals between age group 20-30.

My Experience with Amorepacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Eye Treatment Gel:

I have tried Caudalie eye care products which are equally pricey and I feel this Amorepacific eye treatment gel is more or less comparable to my former eye creams from Caudalie. I finished off my last Caudalie Vinexpert eye and lip serum which gave me soft and smooth skin with smoothened fine lines in these 3-4 months but I was not very impressed by the former hence I happily agreed to proceed with this Amorepacific moisture bound eye care range. It’s been 2-3 weeks since I am using it regularly AM/PM and I will not say it is my best luxurious eye gel/cream; however I cannot deny its good effects on my skin within 2-3 weeks! The texture of eye gel is thick as compared to my former eye creams, and I need a small pea size drop for both of my eyes. It is highly concentrated gel which easily spreads on my skin and I can see it absorbs quickly and leaves no oily/greasy cast on eyes. When they say, it gives boost of hydration I would definitely agree as it keeps my eye area well moisturized and soft for good 6-8 hours!

I feel, when our skin is well moisturized it tends to look radiant & youthful naturally and that’s what this eye gel does to my skin, it gives that optimum flush of hydration to my skin and my skin looks smooth and yes I definitely notice smoothened fine lines around my eyes. It also helps in soothing puffy brow bone, I never woke up with swollen puffy brow bone area in these 2-3 weeks which is impressive as I don’t get under eye bags but I do get puffy brow bone especially when I eat rice and suffer from a cold.

And now my disappointment starts where it tends to smudge my eye makeup after few hours say 4-5 hours which is pretty good duration but I expect a lot from this product especially if it says “suitable for oily skin”. The good part is it tends to absorb and smoothen my under eye area once I get ready with mineral face powder while I need to sweep oil free mineral powder over my eye lids to keep them non greasy after 4-5 hours. Moreover, now I believe every luxurious/non luxurious eye cream may smooth fine lines and may help in delaying onset of signs of ageing but none of them would actually vanish existing fine lines! As of now, I love it for none of my former eye creams hydrated and smoothed my eye area for 6+ hours and gave me visibly improved skin day by day, it was a vicious circle where you notice smooth skin by morning and by evening you need to again start with those nasty fine lines! Thankfully it improves your skin texture from day one and I feel fresh, dewy skin for good hours throughout day! I am keen to use it in winters considering its high concentrated formula though! I would confess that I am not hooked onto this cream as it is more or less formulated with chemicals and I would like to search a decent naturally derived eye cream before coming to this particular gel next time. I will recommend this eye gel to you all for a change from your regular skin care regime, preferably combo, normal/dry skin beauties. Thankfully I do not have dark circles hence I may not swear by its claim of correcting under eye dark circles sorry.. 😛

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Amorepacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Eye Treatment gel

 A thick concentrated eye cream infused with goodness of bamboo sap, green tea and red ginseng
 The gel is highly concentrated and hence a small pea size drop is more than enough to cover both eyes
 It does keep my eye area well moisturized and soft for 6+ hours
 I notice my fine lines are not completely diminished but they are less visible as my skin is touchably soft and visibly smooth
 It never accentuated my oily skin issues further
 It effectively hydrates eye area which in turn helps in slowing down onset of fine lines further
 It does help in soothing puffy brow bone area up to a good extent
 Considering its thick, concentrated texture I guess it will work best in winters on all skin types
 It effectively blends on skin hence no mess of rubbing or massaging on sensitive skin
 Travel friendly and luxurious packaging along with mild luxurious smell which is not over powering.

Cons of Amorepacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Eye Treatment Gel:

• If you already have fine lines, you should skip it
• It may smudge eye makeup after 4-5 hours
• It comes in tub packaging, however now I am pretty much fine with tub packaging.. 😛
• Considering its high end price, I feel it’s not a must-have or highly recommended product though it is popular among all korean mums here.
• It does have silicones, alcohol & other chemicals in its ingredient list.

I have not many issues with alcohol or silicons as long as it is positively improving my skin texture, however I would like to keep my future eye cream as natural as possible, I hope I will get it! I wonder why many Japanese & Korean mums in my baby’s playschool swear by this eye treatment gel and they are actually youthful and gorgeous! 😛 Hah as I always say, may be our problematic skin is not accustomed to derive benefits from such luxurious brand.. 😛

I would like to give it 3.5/5 for its chemical formulation and other flaws which are slightly disappointing!

  1. Great neetu *clap* . Husband’s impulse buy *hihi* I know that. My husband does that on books and gadgets. Well, he does’t have a clue about beauty products. Can’t tell an eye pencil from a lipstick *hihi* . This gel sounds good. Liked that upside down packaging *hihi* .

    1. 😛 eye make up I mean… 😛 it tends to make oily eye lids after few hrs, sometimes even my sephora retractable long wear eye liner smudges on my eye lids.. *headbang* dunno why we oily skin people can’t get a decent sktan care or atleast make up to stay.. *headbang*

  5. rofl rofl rofl …. Grt impulse buy from hubby I must say…. I usually avoid taking my hubby and kid for shopping… My hubby wants to buy nothing and my kid wants to buy everything

    1. I dunno why he is always convinced easily wid dolls of amorepacific counter while guys of burberry, tom ford beauty counter always plead for his attention.. *pan* *hihi*
I dun hv choice I need to make him my chauffeur arpita, as long as i am learner driver.. *headbang*
Bt its gud to hv him during shopping trips coz i knw he is always in hurry, wont even bother to look at the stuff n just get it.. *hihi* *hihi*

  6. great review Neetu *clap* , none of the eye creams or anything have helped my dark circles , and hence I have lost hope on eye creams curing them *hihi* *hihi* anyways, and as far as smudging of eye makeup goes are u applying eye cream directly on eyelids, if yes then its not a good idea esp if u have oily eyelids like I have, applying it just below the brows on brow bone helps as eye cream travel an inch around the eye area so they should never be applied directly onto eyelids, hope it helps 🙂

    1. Oh yeah eye area is so sensitive and it really hurts if our concerns r nt fulfilled wid our purchase.. *hunterwali*
gosh dhara u helped me frm such blunder, I had been doing more or less same, bt i just used to touch my lids after getting done wid brow bonw & under eye area at one go.. *preen*
I need to get rid of my habit to touch my lids after using eye cream.. *woot*

  7. love the way you start writing a review *woot* i think this is expensive for the quality…very well written review…a great guide. *clap* *puchhi*
