In continuation of the eyeshadow reviews, today’s review is on Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles in the shade Sangria, which by the way is one of my favourite drinks, and one which I am not allowed too often! Why? That’s a long story, will keep it for another day. So, does my favourite drink also become my favourite eyeshadow? Let us find out.
A collection of single, fine-milled powder eye shadows in individual pans. Use Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles to create a professional-style four- or eight-pan custom, refillable palette.
The shadows come individually packaged in an individual plastic sleeve – like a refill packaging. The same is then enclosed in a cardboard cover which has the product name and ingredients mentioned on it; the name is also mentioned on the flip side of the eyeshadow itself. I think the packaging is excellent. Not a single of eyeshadow was shattered upon arrival. The metal pans are easy to pop into a magnetic palette, like a Z palette. Alternatively, you can also pick an empty palette from the ABH site.
My Experience with Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles Sangria:
The shade Sangria is listed under the satin shades. It has been described as satin iridescent cranberry and is a beautiful pinkish plum shade with distant shimmer. I am not sure why it has been categorised as a satin instead of a shimmer. The shade is absolutely stunning. I love such colours. The shimmer, though distinct, isn’t like a feisty sheen which would make you think once before using it for a daytime look.
I have shared 2 EOTDs with you. In the first one, I have used it in the inner 1/3 of the eyelid. In the second EOTD, I have used it on the lower lash line, and I am loving the effect it has created.
The texture is quite buttery smooth, finely milled and creamy. However, it isn’t so creamy that it starts crumbling. So, it doesn’t accentuate texture on the eyelids. As far as the application is concerned, it was easy to apply and it blends smoothly. It works well with other shades and blends effectively.
The shade has excellent pigmentation. In the first EOTD, despite the purple shade being so eye catching, I feel this shade holds its own. In the second EOTD, I have used only this on the lower lash line and I absolutely love how vibrant the look has come out with just one shade on the eye. The shade shows up true to pan.
I apply my eyeshadows over a primer because my eyelids are way too oily – shimmer shades start creasing and becoming mush. The shade gave about 8-9 hours of wear time before showing signs of fading. This shade does not crease on me.
Pros of Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles Sangria:
• A gorgeous cranberry plum shade.
• Distinct but not overpowering shimmer.
• Excellent pigmentation.
• Blends out easily.
• Does not emphasise texture of my skin.
• Decent wear time – with primer – about 8-9 hours.
• Did not experience any fall out with it.
Cons of Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles Sangria:
• Nothing at all.
IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
I absolutely love this shade from the ABH singles range. I would say it is a must-have because the shade is beautiful. It offers great quality and is easy to work with. I definitely see myself reaching for this a lot.
