Doesn’t matter how much matte and crème lipsticks are in rage these days, lip glosses have a separate place in the world and there will always be a special place for them. I know many people still prefer glosses for everyday application over other formulas. I picked up a shade called “Fudge” from Anastasia Beverly Hills lip glosses. I am a fan of their liquid lipsticks and now it was time to try their glosses. Let’s get into the review.
A fully-pigmented, weightless lip gloss formula in lacquer and luster finishes. This ultra-pigmented lip lacquer delivers a mirror-like gloss finish. Its round, flexible applicator ensures precise application. It is formulated without sulfates, phthalates.
My Take on Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss Fudge:
Unlike liquid lipsticks, these glosses come in a rather sophisticated and less flashy look. I found this packaging to be classier. They come in a transparent bottle and a black screw cap. The applicator is a flat sponge tip. This applicator is good for glosses as they have less opacity of color and a flat applicator deposits the max color in single swipe. This way we can achieve intense pigment.
“Fudge” is an amazing “rich chocolate brown” shade. I somehow feel that it does not suit me well. It will suit darker skin complexions much much better and will enhance their look. If you are lover of dark and deep shades, I am sure you will like this shade. It does take all the attention to your lips, so keeping rest of the makeup minimal is what I suggest.
The texture, as expected is very glossy and feels heavy on the lips. It is a super shiny gloss and gives an illusion of fuller lips. I will say the texture is a little waxy, may be because there is a need for the gloss to stick on to the lips. The intensity is pretty high.
If you see the swatch on hand or lips, you will see complete color coverage. Once applied, it sets well on the lips, with seamless texture. There are streaks of sponge or application. Needless to say, it does transfer to cups etc. and feels sticky. I need reapplication after a meal or even with a light snack, but these things are expected from a gloss, so I will not consider them to be cons.
The smell reminds me of cupcakes. It is so sweet and yummy that it is almost impossible to resist the temptation of eating the product!
Pros of Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss Fudge:
- Beautiful chocolate shade (doesn’t suit me but that doesn’t make it a bad product.. isn’t that right?).
- Lovely smell.
- No streaky texture.
- Sits well on lips.
- No sulfates and phthalates.
Cons of Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss Fudge:
- This shade may not suit lighter skin tones.
- Availability in India.
