My Experience with Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick Brandy:

The lipstick comes in a glossy black and rose gold packaging. The cap is long and black in color. It has the brand’s tagline engraved on the tube. It has a nice rose gold twist-up base that moves smoothly. The cap of the lipstick tube shuts very securely making a click sound and ensures that the lipstick packaging is purse-friendly and would not create any mess around. The brand’s logo is printed on the top of the cap and the neck of the lipstick tube. The packaging is not color-coded, so I need to check the base of the lipstick tube for the shade. The shape of the lipstick bullet is regular and helps achieve easy and precise application. Overall, the packaging looks beautiful and classy.

“Brandy” is a beautiful burgundy shade with warm tones. This is a beautiful shade for winters and it will flatter Indian skin tones very well. It is a deep vampy shade and too loud for daytime wear or everyday use, but stunning lipstick to rock night parties. It does not contain any sheen or shimmer. It sets to a soft, velvety, matte finish initially and later on looks perfectly matte on the lips. It does not have a powdery matte kind of formulation.

The lipstick is decently pigmented, one swipe gives semi-opaque coverage. Two to three swipes give even and full coverage to the lips. It is capable of covering pigmented lips really well. The color spreads evenly on the lips and does not get patchy. Most deep shades of lipsticks like this one tends to look dark at some places while lighter at the other, but this one looks even and smooth all over the lips. There is no significant fragrance in this lipstick.

The texture of this shade is smoother and better than other variants. It does not cause too much tugging or pulling of the lips and glides smoothly. It does highlight dry patches of the lips, so it is important to exfoliate and moisturize lips well for smoother and healthier-looking lips. So, I would highly recommend prepping the lips before application. The formula is comfortable but not extremely lightweight on the lips. I can feel its presence on my lips but these are not heavy or sticky. The lipstick is smudge-proof up to some extent even after meals.

The formula is not heavily transferring and there is minimal transfer of color. It survives normal sipping and light snacks easily, but it fades away after a heavy meal leaving a light stain behind. The lipstick is neither too moisturizing nor drying on the lips. It stays comfortable on my lips and I do not need frequent application of the lip balm. So, I need to apply a lip balm. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.

The lipstick lasts for good 6-7 hours on my lips with a little fading. It leaves a light stain behind, which can be taken off easily with a good makeup remover. Overall, this range has insane number of shades from nudes to bolds, which makes this range worth trying.
