My Experience with Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Pencil Base 1:
I was introduced to this product by a dear friend. She is a makeup artist based in Bay area and was over at my place to teach me some tips and tricks. We were trying out different eye looks and she pulled out this product and used this as a primer. I instantly fell in love with how it covered the darkness on my lids and made them look like a clean canvas waiting to be painted on!
I use the Pro Pencil as a base on my lids, I use this on the waterline to achieve bigger/brighter eye, to highlight the brow bone area, on the cupid’s bow, inner corner of the eye, and bridge of the nose. But one of the favorite ways of using it is for lining the lips and covering the dark pigmentation. I line my lips with the Pro Pencil after using a dark/red lipstick and this helps to clean up for a perfect look, and also prevent the lipstick from bleeding.
I use this in place of concealer around the lips because I can get better precision. I use the pencil to cover the dark pigmentation on the lips when I want to use a light-colored lipstick or more n*de color lip look.
The Pro Pencil comes in 3 different shades – Base 1, Base 2 and Base 3. I appreciate that the company made the effort to make them in different shades, because for the kind of uses it gives as one product, it is necessary to suit different skin tones. I use Base 1, it is the lightest shade. Base 2 seems more of a pinky- peach shade, which can also be used as corrector for dark circles. Base 3 is the deep shade. Base 3 can also be used by light skin tones for contouring purposes or creating shadows. It is definitely a good investment.
