Andrea Visage Clair Gentle Hair Remover for the Face
Hello to all IMBB Beauties!
First of all, I apologize for not being able to write reviews since the past few days, was down with fever and food poisoning, but now feeling much better and on the way to recovery! Today, I’ll be reviewing one amazing product which has been my saviour for the last 3 years! We all get something or the other genetically from our parents like eye color, hair texture, skin, etc! I got all my creativity and love for cooking from my mom 🙂 She has been my inspiration and support throughout my life and I can’t thank her enough! On the other hand, I got loads and loads of hair from my dad!
Don’t get me wrong, I love the hair on my head, but hate it on my face! Yes, I have loads of facial hair 🙁 On confronting my dad, he says its good to have hair as it protects your skin from pollution! urgg!! talk about being positive!
So anyway, coming back to the topic, when I was a baby, my mom says that I was born with very long hair, in fact the hair on my head was 1 inch long!! In our customs, once a baby is born, we massage the baby using “chane ka atta” and “haldi” i.e., chickpea flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric. This helps to remove the facial and body hair, but I was allergic to chickpea and used to develop red bumps!
It was not a problem until I came to college and obviously facial hair and that too jet dark would be embarrassing for anyone! I have tried everything, right from threading to waxing to plucking and even used chickpea flour and bleaching! But nothing seems to work! Waxing I feel loosens the skin and I get loads of bumps which do go away after a couple of days. Bleaching does not suit me at all and gave me dark patches once, so I stay away from it!
During my stay in Switzerland, I was browsing through a cosmetic shop and came across this beauty! I was highly skeptical about using creams on face for hair removal and had heard stories of how the skin breaks out or in turn more hair starts growing, etc., but curiosity got better of me and I grabbed the product! Boy, I am glad! I did a patch test on my arm and then used on my side locks.
The cream comes in a pink+cream box packaging and consist of 3 products, cream for hair removal with a cream to be applied after removing the hair. This is basically for soothing the skin and one small spatula for applying the cream. They also give a leaflet with complete instructions on how to use the product, for how much time it should be kept, etc.
The complete list of ingredients is also given.
My Experience with Andrea Visage Clair Gentle Hair Remover for the Face:
I am using this cream since the last 3 years and I totally love it! I have got extremely dark and thick hair on face, especially the side locks. The cream is of same consistency of a bleach cream and even smells kind of similar. I apply a thick patch of this cream on my side locks and keep it for 5 to 7 minutes, but never beyond that! After 7 minutes, I usually use the given spatula in opposite direction of hair growth and remove the cream and all hair comes off easily without any pain or reaction! Then, I wash my face with cold water and pat with a towel. I then apply the soothing cream generously on the area where I used the hair removal cream! The soothing cream is the best I have ever come across! Its so light and fluffy, almost like gel consistency with loads of water! It gets absorbed immediately and gives a cooling effect on skin. I have used this cream after waxing and threading and it calms down my skin very nicely!
I have used more than 4 to 5 boxes of these and I always request my friends coming down from Swiss to get this one! Its best when you don’t have time to go to the parlor. Also, the best thing is that after using it for almost 3 years, it has slowly reduced my hair growth and even the new hair coming up is not that thick! This was also noticed by my parlor aunty to whom I usually go for waxing! One tube will last really long. I use it like once in 2 months and one tube easily gives me 6 to 8 applications!
There is no adverse effects on the skin, no dark patches or burning if used properly. One important thing to be noted is that do not use this cream after scrubbing or waxing! Scrubbing opens up the pores and makes the skin highly sensitive to rashes and burning!
The hair is removed from the roots and there is absolutely no breakage! Depending upon the thickness of hair, you may have to keep it a little while longer, but don’t keep it for more than 8 to 10 minutes. These instructions are also given in the leaflet! I believe it will suit all skin types but sensitive skin gals, please do a patch test! The only issue I find is with its availability as I have never seen this cream anywhere except in Swiss, I couldn’t even find it in the US 🙁
See, how it moisturizes the skin!!
I believe it was around 19 swiss francs.
4/ 5. (Deducted one point for chemicals present and non-availability in India).
I totally recommend it to gals who are suffering from facial hair. I am saving up for laser but its damn costlier and not everyone can afford it!
Hope this review was helpful and until next time, take care!

wow..wasnt aware of products for hair removal on the face..just one question- will the hair not grow back faster if this is done? versus bleach i mean..
aru, i too have the same question..wont it grow bck faster and appear rough?
i’m scared to paly around wit facial hair 🙁
not really..my face is clean for at least a week..infact with waxing the hair starts growing faster..atleast thats what I have seen for myself! also the thickness of hair has reduced a lot!! which is a big bonus for me as I really have very thick hair 🙁 also I don’t recommend using this on entire face as I have never done so but def works for chin and side locks and neck area very well.
Also just as bleach never use this on already existing blemishes or pimples.
hope this helped 🙂
definitely helps. would be a nice product to have. Incidentally I dont wax my face either. In the US I used to wax my eyebrows (in the parlour I mean) instead of threading them like I do now but thats abt the most I used to wax my face for. But this product you have reviewed seems really neat..would be good to get it in india.
totally agree..unfortunately i haven’t really seen it available online either 🙁
Nice, detailed review Parita..This is a must have for me..but Sad its not available in India:( 🙁
is there anything similar to this,in the doemstic market?
unfortunately I have not seen anything similar 🙁
Amazing Parita.. a very detailed and convincing review! After reading this, I recollected your beautiful, dark, long manes I saw in on e of ur pics on IMBB.. 😀
thanks surabhi..yeah i have those dark thick hair on my face too 🙁
Oh, I am so hunting down the cyberspace for this now, I have few hair on my chin and they are driving me nuts. Thanks so much Parita :))
m glad it was helpful Bee..i know how irritating it becomes! plus it makes ones skin look dull even though its not! hate it!
Seems like a great wonder product Parita…excellent review!! 🙂
thanks Kimi 🙂
whoa….its a saviour for girls with facial hair….. but we dont get it here 🙁 🙁 🙁
I know 🙁 i haven’t seen it online either 🙁
Same sentiments.. Seems like such a nice product, but not available 🙁
The product seems good. I dint see any parabens or silicones. 🙂 Glad!
Good review Parita. I think there are such creams from Olay and Avon too but not sure if they are avlbl in Indian market.
thanks 🙂 oh didnt know we had such creams from olay n avon? i dont think they are available in india 🙁
i wish something like this would be available in india. Its high time…
totally my sentiments! its a pain to request friends to get stuff from outside india all the time 🙁
my sis gave me on nair face removal cream but i was so scared to try it on 🙁
but this is waaooww
from your DP it does not seem you have any facial hair neha 🙂 lucky one!
😐 i have to wax my upperlips pari n in ur pics i cudnt never think u use this 🙂
i bleach too 😛
arre pics mein dikhta nahi hai..i basically have issue with side locks n chin 🙁 bleach toh doesn’t suit me at all..too scared to try it..get dark patches 🙁
I also have facial hair parita but they are not very thick. As in if I bleach my face, I am good to go for 2 months. Never tried waxing or threading on hair. Actually i never had much hair but I stayed don hostel for 6-7 years because of lack of adequate diet a lot of girls ended up having a lot of hair growth on face and body. :(( Sounds awesome. Wish we could ge it here 🙁
rati you’ve god flawless skin!! wish my skin was half as good 🙂
Parita, this will be such a saviour for those with facial hair. but i would advise you to go through laser. It is amazing and you would see the results within 4 sittings itself, save up and go for laser 🙂
yup laser is def on my list!! spending 10000 bucks every month on it is a bit difficult right now 🙁 hopefully in couple of yrs 🙂
Parita, it won’;t cost that much ,I have got mine done for Rs. 5000 with tax per session, check at your place, it might not cost that much. In fact, in Gujarat, it is around 3000 only per session.
WOW seriously??? m def checking out with the derma asap!! thank you jomol!
Parita, I have scary experiences with bleaching, it has made my face darker and darker until I realized that the harm done was very grave, I do not bleach my face at all :((
me too me too jomol 🙁 bleaching actually says it’ll make our skin brighter but it always happens other way round with me 🙁
I hate bleaching Parita, but I realized much much later how much harm has been done. Even keeping it for 5 minutes, does damage to my skin :((
I am SO going to hunt for this product. I don’t have any kind of extra facial hair (except the usual ones on the upper lip area) but I have a crazy region at the back of my neck. Girls with even a lot of body hair have that area smooth and clean while mine looks like I am going to transform into a werewolf any moment. I definitely want this cream. I hate it when all kinds of awesome products are not available in India. It’s as if we’re living on Mars or something. 😐
Thanks for letting us know about this wonder product, Parita! 😀
I so can understand your pain JW..m glad this review was helpful!
I just got my upper lip waxed two days back and I have painful bumps/boils in the area 🙁 I so wish I could use this, pleaaase try and find out if it’s anywhere online? Also do you think waxing is better or threading? I’m scared that threading might increase growth…
Btw how’s your cake biz going?? 🙂
Thanks Nandini..sure will def keep an eye out for this one online n let u know 🙂
cake biz bit slow as i was sick since last few days but hopefully things will go back to normal 🙂 thanks for asking!
for me i have personally experienced waxing increases hair growth 🙁 especially in chin area so m super scared of waxing..plus it pulling of skin makes it loose 🙁
Thanks Parita! Woah really? Maybe I should just go for threading then :/ won’t that also increase growth?
Aw, hope you get well soon, what happened??
atleast in my case i dont find the growth increasing infact my eyebrow growth has reduced a lot over period of time which now is a cause of concern coz i do want hair there LOL
nothin yaar ate outside 🙁 outside food does suit me one bit 🙁
its available on the amazon.shipping extra.
wow sakshi..thanks for letting us know!
This is like one of the most useful product reviews on this site.. Thank you so much Parita, for making us aware about the existence of such a wonderful product. My mom has this problem, of excessive hair in the side lock area, and she too isn’t very keen on waxing or bleaching them as they both come with lot of cons like pain, bleach burn etc.. This product sounds so gud. Wud ask somebody to get it for her now. thank u so much for sharing.
PS: JW, u r insanely funny 🙂
Thanks Sunsine..m so glad it was helpful..pls check out amazon..sakshi mentioned above its available there 🙂
nice review parita…
Hey parita…lovely product! and thanks a lot for introducing us to it. I was just wondering about the hair’s regrowth. How much time does it take for the hair to grow back? and does it grow stubbly or finer? 😀
in my case it definitely came in finer n thickness reduced a lot! the hair usually starts growing after a week but this will depend from person to person..hope this helped!
