Anna Andre Paris Extreme Elegance Poudre Compacte Review

Anna Andre Paris Extreme Elegance Poudre Compacte

Hello All!

I have a thing for compact powders. I love them, I use them, I hoard them. I think I’ll make a movie about them and name it “Love, Use, Hoard”. 🙂 I buy as many as I can afford, irrespective of whether or not I will be able to use them. Of course I maintain a strict budget-products-only rule, but if I ever decide to cheat on that rule, it will most certainly be for a compact powder. At present, I own nine compacts and Anna Andre Paris Extreme Elegance Poudre Compact is the newest member in my collection. Read on to find if it found the revered place in my everyday bag or if its fate comprises of lying desolate in the corner of an almost never opened drawer.

My Experience with Anna Andre Paris Extreme Elegance Poudre Compact:

The powder comes in a black container that holds the pan with a transparent cap, very much like the Coloressence Compact Powder containers. It has no mirror, a reason enough for me to be never to buy the product again. I ordered it online and the picture on the website did not show the transparent cap, neither did it mention the absence of mirror. The applicator given with the compact is absolutely flimsy. It is a round sponge with a little ribbon at the back to facilitate holding it. Now, while I use brush to apply powder, I do appreciate decent applicator with my compact. I like the ones they provide with Chambor Silver Shadow and Touch and Glow Compacts, which, incidentally happen to be my favourite compacts. Getting back to the powder, it has a very mild, pleasant smell. It is not very finely milled, but it fine enough for a powder under Rs200. The sponge grabs way too much product, so I use a brush. When I applied it to my face, I found that it has no coverage, none at all. It did brighten my face and mattify it, but did not hide any blemishes. Now I don’t expect a compact to do a concealer’s job but I do expect coverage enough to lighten the scars just a little for when I’m too lazy to use a concealer. However, when worn over a foundation, it does an excellent job setting it. Again, you would want to use a brush. The powder stays put for about three hours before my face starts to get shiny again. An okay product. If you need a compact under Rs200 for setting your foundation or if you need something that would brighten up your face, you could try this, but sadly, it does not suit my purpose at all. Also, if you do decide to get it, good luck with figuring out the shade selection.

Will I Repurchase Anna Andre Paris Extreme Elegance Poudre Compacte?

No. It really irks me when compacts do not have mirrors. Also, I like compacts with a little coverage.
