Apollo Pharmacy Sunscreen Lotion Review

APOLLO PHARMACY SUNSCREEN LOTION REVIEW

Hello beauties!

Today I’m reviewing a not-so-popular sunscreen. You can get it in medical shops or can order from apollopharmacy.in ,if at all you’ll buy it after reading this review! It is actually a ‘warning review’ , so that you’ll stay away from this sunscreen.I don’t have a clear reason as to why I bought this;I was searching for a medical sunscreen just before my trip to Kerala, and couldn’t find Melascreen or Suncote;so I had just randomly picked this one up.

Apply daily on freshly cleansed face, neck and other exposed part of the body before venturing in the sun.

INR 135 for 100 ml(the price was either not written on my bottle,or it has got erased)

MY EXPERIENCE
It comes in a bright orange plastic bottle, with a flip cap.The consistency is in between a cream and a lotion. It is off-white in colour and smells strongly of Pond’s cold cream, which I used to use as a child! (I know its strange ,but couldn’t find anything better than that to describe the smell).

It is very oily, and moisturizes the skin overly. When I had applied it in the summers over my dry-normal skin, it had felt very heavy, and I had got little white heads on my nose.It was on my trip to Kerala, and the weather there was hot and humid. I have stopped using it on my face since then.In fact, this sunscreen is more of a body butter than a sunscreen! I had waited for the winters to use up this one. Even in the winters , I don’t have the courage to use it on my face , and use it only on my hands and feet.It feels very heavy on the skin, and causes profuse sweating!

It prevents tanning quite nicely but not as good as the Ranbaxy Aqua Suncros Gel.Even after blending a lot ,It leaves a white cast, and looks very shiny! I can’t comment on whether it prevents sunburns, as I don’t get them. Not sure if it prevents premature ageing, but I can surely say that they have put too much Vitamin E , which moisturizes so heavily that pimples/whiteheads/acne are bound to come!

It is not water-proof . If you wash the part of the skin where you had applied it ,with water, it’ll feel like you are washing off oil, or a very thick cream(body emulsion/body butter)

FINAL VERDICT
I would recommend this only to people who have extremely chapped skin.Oily and normal skinned people may not even need to read my review,it’s a pretty scary sunscreen for them.
I wouldn’t buy this again, and would rate it 1/5.
One mark just for preventing me from tanning.

Take care until I meet you’ll again. 🙂
