Ardell Pro Brow Pomade – Dark Brown Review

Hello gorgeous ladies,

Think of lashes, think of Ardell!! We have all been loving the fabulous yet inexpensive lashes by Ardell and this brand has been a trusted brand for eyelashes since years. Hence when I saw a brow pomade by Ardell, I was pleasantly surprised. All the drugstore brands are coming out with their own version of brow products, whether it be a brow pencil, a brow gel, brow mascara, brow kit and even brow pomade.  So, I thought it was a brilliant move by Ardell to extend its makeup line and come out with a brow pomade. Let’s take a look!

My Experience with Ardell Pro Brow Pomade – Dark Brown:

Being the lazy person that I am, I do like makeup products that perform the best with less effort. This is the basic reason why I do not like the pomade or powder formats of brow products. I think they are way too time consuming and require a lot of attention. I love using the L’Oreal Brow definer pencil topped with the L’Oreal Brow Gel, and I am sorted! But since I never tried any brow pomades until now, I thought of giving this one a try before I could invest in the ABH Dip Brow Pomade.

Packaging:  My first impression upon opening this product was that the packaging feels cheap and flimsy. The jar of the pomade is a plastic jar which is light and feels reasonably fragile. I know that it’s a drugstore product, but trust me, I would settle for a tiny glass jar like the Maybelline or L’Oreal gel liners. The amount of product that you get is 3.2 grams which is good. It also comes with a brush that is pretty useless. The bristles are too long and make it hard to have control over what you are doing, but the spoolie that comes on the other end is quite reasonable.

Color: The Ardell Pro Brow Pomade is available in 3 shades – Dark Brown, Medium Brown and Blonde. I obviously picked up the shade “Dark Brown” as the medium brown as well was too light for me.

Texture and Pigmentation:  The very first thing I noticed when putting my brush into the product was that it was glittery!! The pomade has fairly chunky glitter particles in it. Really Ardell, what were you thinking?? It looks matte until you scrape the top layer with the brush, at which time you can see tiny glitters running through it. The last thing I need in a brow pomade is glitter!! The pomade otherwise is pretty creamy and glides on really smoothly.

Longevity: The pomade sets completely on your face very quickly, so you do have to work reasonably fast. Once it dries, it doesn’t move or fade at all, which is great!

Quality: I would say as a brow pomade, this product is a major fail as the glitter is visible on the brows and it looks really funny!! But guess what ladies? I found out a better way of using it. I use it as a gel liner and it works fabulous!

The shimmers in the pomade look amazing as a gel liner and the creamy consistency of the pomade makes it easy to apply on the lids.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Ardell Pro Brow Pomade – Dark Brown?
Overall, I think this product is going to work just fine if you are looking for a brown gel liner with glitters, but if you want a serious pomade for your brows, just run away from this product unless you like glittery brows! I am not going to repurchase or recommend this to anyone. I will finish it though, but as a gel liner.

    1. Trust me Shikha, I was shocked to see the shimmers, but I am glad it can be used as a Gel liner thanks to it’s creamy consistency!
