Skin Type: Oily, sensitive, prone to tanning
Hey you pretty girls!
Hope you are taking good care of yourself. Summers are the worst time for my skin type- oily, sensitive and prone to rashes, sunburns and tanning. Too deadly a combination to rock the summers, right? Plus I have PCOS, so I am not spared from occasional acne outbursts! So I try to keep my skin clean calm and soothed, and refrain from using random products, but Aroma Magic products have been kind to my skin, hence I wanted to try out this new launch from the brand. Read on to know about Aroma Magic Vitamin C Skin Lightening Gel.
INR 350 for 100 gm.
I am 100% free of petrochemicals, phthalates, toxic ingredients, artificial fragrance and colour. My preparation, packed with natural source of vitamin C lightens and protects while the grape juice guards the skin against UV damage and ageing. Powered by the extracts of cherry and licorice, I am enriched with anti-pigmentation and skin cell regeneration properties. The exquisite fusion of essential oils of neroli & lemon helps to maintain the natural pH balance and promotes skin elasticity while the saffron infused water in my formulation treats the skin blemished. I leave your skin lighter and lustrous all day.
My Experience with Aroma Magic Vitamin C Skin Lightening Gel:
It comes in a simple white tube packaging which is quite sturdy and travel friendly. The white tube looks attractive and aesthetically minimal and has a screw on cap. It comes in a beautiful cardboard box with all product details neatly mentioned on different sides.
The consistency is more like a thick solution with uniform dispersion of Vitamin C. I know I sound like a research person (can’t help it!), but in simple terms, it doesn’t have the consistency and texture of common gels like aloe vera gel, but the texture makes it so easy to apply and massage into the skin. It gets absorbed super-fast and within a few minutes your skin becomes fresh and matte. I would recommend this for oily-combination and normal skin types, but not for dry skin.
Now coming to how the product is designed to use. I apply it to clean face in the evening and leave it on for two-three hours before washing off and applying my night cream products. But Vitamin C products can be safely applied in the morning and help in preventing sun damage. So why I don’t use it regularly in the mornings? Because although it gives a matte fresh look, on applying any water0based foundation, it breaks and flakes off. If you are applying a mousse or heavier foundation, it stays in place and gives a beautiful look, but I am in a rush every morning and apply a tinted moisturizer over sunscreen and set with a powder. It doesn’t agree with the tinted moisturizer I use, so I often give it a skip.
Coming to the properties, does it lighten skin tone and blemishes? I haven’t noticed that yet. It’s been three weeks and my skin looks fresh and hydrated. The good thing is that it does prevent tanning, so if you have worked hard for removing your tan, apply this to prevent tanning. It makes on skin lustrous and radiant, but hasn’t significantly affected my skin tone or acne scars.
