In this post, I am reviewing an eyeshadow base from Artdeco.
Artdeco Eyeshadow Base is a neutral base to ensure even distribution of eye shadow. Formulated with Vitamin E, this creamy eyeshadow base nourishes and protects the sensitive eye skin whilst ensuring eye shadow application is easier. Bisabolol calms red eyes ensuring the skin is neutralised before the application of eye shadow. Perfect for contact lens wearers this base ensures eye shadow particles stay put and does not deposit in the crease of the eye. Colours are distributed evenly resulting in brighter, more intense pigmentation and even the most basic of eye-shadows become longer lasting and brilliant.

My Experience with Artdeco Eyeshadow Base:
I have been using this eyeshadow primer for over a month now. I have the oiliest eyelids you could ever imagine. I feel that’s the only place I have oil on my face. 😐 So every time, I wear an eyeshadow, I have to have a solid base underneath. Artdeco Eyeshadow base comes in this tiny little pot.
It is a shimmery champagne coloured frosty eyeshadow primer. It feels quite creamy silky smooth on touch. I notice that it is best applied with finger tips. It has that translucent quality to it that prevents it from mixing with any eyeshadow color that you put on top of it.
I have worn eyeshadow for as long as 8 hours with this base underneath, and this has helped in keeping my eyeshadows looking fresh and also has prevented my eyeshadows from creasing. It is actually quite a big deal for me. I also use it when I have to do a thick eyeliner, then I don’t have to worry about my eyeshadow transferring on top.
It has never irritated my eyes. It does not make eyeshadow colors vibrant, but does keep the true color of the eyeshadows. Just a little goes a long way. Also, it does mention that the primer helps with the redness on the lids. Well, I don’t face such problem, so I can’t really say much about that, but it could be something to consider if you have an issue.
There are two problems I face with this one:
1. It comes in a pot, so I don’t find it very hygienic to use.
2. Sometimes when I try to use eyeshadow on top of it with a damp brush, the base comes off and make it nearly impossible to do anything after that.
3. Also, since the eyeshadow base is frosty, it prevents me from doing a super matte eyeshadow look on top of it.
I am not a hugest fan of this primer. It’s nice while it lasts, but would not repurchase it.
