Australis Liquid Lips Sun-Dae Review

Hello everyone!

Today I’ve got the review of a liquid lipstick from Australis. And, guess what! This shade called ‘Sun-Dae’ is a very close dupe to our very own MAC Ruby Woo. Let’s get started.

My Experience with Australis Liquid Lips Sun-Dae:

This is my first product from the brand Australis. Since liquid lipsticks are very much in trend these days I went on to order one shade from their ‘Liquid Lips’ range. There are about 19 pretty colours to choose from in this range but only a few are available in India. When I checked their official website, I was surprised to see a black shade called ‘I-Scream’ and wondered how people pull of such bold colors.

I chose the shade ‘Sun–Dae’ because I liked how vibrant the shade looked and wanted to check how this one would fare on me. It is a beautiful shade of bright red with an orange undertone. I am sure that people with fair and medium skin tones will rock this one. Since this lipstick performed well I am eyeing the shades ‘Pav Lover’, ‘T-Art’ and ‘Pan NA Cot’ next.

It comes in a sleek long glass bottle with a very functional and easy to use applicator. I like the shape and size of the applicator as it is easy for me to cover the thinner sides of my lips with it. The print of dripping liquid gives a very appealing look to the whole packaging of this liquid lip colour.

The packaging is colour-coded and the shade sticker has been labelled at the bottom. I personally love the colour-coded packaging as it makes it easy to pick up the right shade as per our choice. Overall, I like its packaging and I haven’t had any issues with it so far. The consistency is neither thin nor thick – just somewhere in between.

I find the consistency to be perfect and it glides easily on the lips without making the lips dry or flaky. The colour is intense and looks gorgeous after application. As soon as I apply the lip colour it looks glossy and takes time to settle and dry. It has been mentioned in the product description that it takes 90 seconds for the formula to dry completely, but as per my experience, I can say it takes much longer than that.

MAC Ruby Woo Dupe

Since I swipe it multiple times to adjust the colour the waiting time gets extended. Once it dries and settles completely, it gives your lips a matte finish with a slight sheen. What’s great about this lip colour is that no matter how many times I apply this shade it still feels light on the lips; it doesn’t feel heavy at all. Otherwise, most liquid lipsticks tend to feel heavy or cakey on the lips.

Still, you have to be a little careful during application as this product doesn’t look good if it bleeds. So, it is necessary to line the lips or contour the lips before you fill in the colour. I am impressed with its staying power as it does last a very long time. It fades a little after a meal. But since the colour is very bright and intense and it leaves a stain, the fading is barely noticeable.

The bright stain still looks good after a meal. Moreover, this doesn’t transfer and is kiss-proof too. I am yet to try the Velour Lips range from this brand, so I can’t really comment which one is better. But, in my opinion, Australis Liquid Lips Sun-Dae is a good lipstick and I cannot wait to try more shades from this range.
