Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Balancing Toner

Hey Friends..

How are you all? Hope all of you are happy and enjoying your life. I had been off for a while but I was in touch with all your overwhelming posts and comments gals. I owe many lovely, proud moments to IMBB and one of them is keeping in touch with blissfully wonderful people around, you are my biggest strength at times when I am running low. Sometimes all we need is an assurance that everything is going to be fine and I can’t tell you how relieved I am today. I really missed IMBB and that interesting comment section throughout the day. Gals did you missed me too?

Anyways, forgiving my past I am hoping for a better day. And before you feel curious about my mysterious absence let me start with today’s purchase first. Considering my problematic oily skin I already started hunting for good toners and stumbled upon this drugstore brand sometime back upon recommendation from one of my friend. It has all good properties we all would love to hear such as: No parabens, phthalates, sulfates etc but still I am not happy with it. Please read on further to know more about Avalon organics vitamin c renewal balancing toner.

Price: $ 12.50 for 8.5 Fl Oz (251 ml), price may vary store to store as I found it for $ 8.67

Packaging: This pale white toner comes in ordinary plastic bottle packaging with flip top cap. At first I was slightly skeptical to use it as it does not have any safety cap though the packaging is quite sturdy and durable. It does have very strong rotten oranges kind of smell which is just not of my type. I hope it would be travel friendly.

My Experience with Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Balancing Toner:

It is infused with vitamin c and many anti-oxidants apart from being more or less natural and free of parabens, sulfates, SLS and/or synthetic fragrances and that’s how I splurged on this stuff. I have been using it religiously for a while and still I don’t like it.

It seems slight thick for a toner and I need to gently wipe it on my face prior of using face lotion/moisturizer everyday AM/PM. I can see traces of dirt on cotton after sweeping toner on my clean, scrubbed face which actually makes me believe that toner is effective on my skin. However, often my face tends to become red which looks really unnatural and uncomfortable post shower especially. Thankfully it does not sting nor irritates my acne prone skin other than leaving it red for few minutes. Hence I started using it in middle of my day and bedtime when I am relived from hassles of going out or running out of time. I am fine with using raw lemon, cucumber on my face than how come I develop red skin with this naturally derived toner.

Instead of a toner I guess it could be used as face refresher for it gives me clear, oil free and refreshed skin after those long tiresome tasks outside which usually end up by scorching noon. And hence I remove it from my daily skin care regimen and use it as my daytime freshener or mist for which it is definitely a good stuff! It is not very efficient in toning my pores though it helps in keeping oil and zits at bay. It does not play any significant role in controlling blackheads/whiteheads on my face as well. Above all I am satisfied that it does not contain any harmful ingredients other than nauseating fragrance which is not over powering thankfully. I am not sure if it does helps with anti-ageing concerns as I cannot see any visible improvements in my skin just because of using this toner exclusively. Even I am not very enthusiastic to continue with it as I feel it’s still expensive (even after discount) for those average results which are easily observed from any decent stuff like this. I am not getting it again and I can only recommend this stuff to oily/combination skin beauty provided you are not prone to sensitivity from natural ingredients.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Balancing Toner:

• A naturally derived toner infused with natural ingredients such as: aloe juice, salicylic acid, orange peel oil, gingko biloba extract etc
• It is effective in sweeping away dirt and oil from face post cleansing routine
• It also works as face freshener and keeps oil, dirt at bay effectively for good hours
• It is formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, dyes and/or harmful SLS
• Sturdy, easily manageable packaging

Cons of Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Balancing Toner:

• It gives me red skin post using on freshly cleansed skin
• It would not help with black heads or white heads completely
• It does not play any role in refining pores for good hours other than temporary sweeping away excess oil and dirt out of pores
• It might not suit most skin types for it is formulated with few essential oils, salicylic acid which might not be good on particular skin type
• It seems pricey for average results on my skin

Well I am not convinced to splurge on this toner again in my life. I am looking for other drugstore/high end brands though! I would suggest skipping it if you are blessed with sensitive, dry skin. I would like to give it 2.5/5.
