We all know the importance of using a face scrub regularly to improve the skin tone and to keep the dead cell build up at check. I have a combination skin which tends to get dry during winter. I prefer using a mild scrub daily instead of using a harsh scrub once or twice a week. Forest essentials Tejasvi ubtan was serving the purpose 100%. Once I ran out of that, I was looking for a mild daily scrub. Since I had good luck with Aveeno positively radiant daily moisturizer, I picked up the Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub.
That’s a long name, huh ? Did this one worked too ? Lets see in a bit.
Product Claim :

Price : $6.59 for 140 ml
Ingredients : Water, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Polyethylene, Lauryl Glucoside, PEG 16 Soy Sterol, Glycine Soja Protein (Soybean), Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Glycol Distearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Methylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance, Laureth 4, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA
My experience :
It comes in a mess free tube packaging making it easy to use in shower. It has kind of natural + chemical smell. I’m not able to explain it properly, but it is definitely detectable. If you have got sensitive nose, you may have problem with it.
When I first opened the package to use the product I was disappointed to see the almost invisible particles in the scrub. I didn’t have hopes that it would work well and applied a little more pressure while using it on my face. And I was left with irritated skin which had a burning sensation after that.
So lesson learnt : Never underestimate a product by look! My skin looked brighter though after using it . I stated using it with lighter hand after that. My skin is not very sensitive. So I guess this product may not work well for sensitive skin. It is a foaming blush and foams very mildly. And it leaves skin a little dry after use, that my skin feels a little stretched. Not that I have to run looking for my moisturizer. And yes it contains SLS and paraben. Thanks to my husband who hates when I go to beauty aisle, mostly I don’t get to go through the ingredient list. All I read was “Aveeno Active Naturals” 😐 . But more than me he ended up using it more 🙂 Though they claim that it is gentle enough for everyday use, I prefer using it on alternate days. Regular use of it keeps my skin considerably clear and free from white heads. This would work as a good twice or thrice a week scrub for normal to dry skin beauties. Sensitive skinned and very dry skinned gals may not get benefited out of it. Here is the pro’s and con’s of it.
- Removes dead cells and brightens the skin.
- Regular use keeps white heads at bay.
- Relatively cheaper
- Contains SLS and paraben.
- Makes skin dry that we need to moisturize immediately
- Fragrance is a little bit on the stronger side.
- Makes skin a little dry.
Verdict : I would call it as an average everyday scrub and nothing special about it !!
