Avene Eau Thermale Rich Compensating Cream Review

By Mantsha

Hello to the all the lovely readers,

First of all, let me tell you all that I have really dry and sensitive skin . So, this January, on my visit to Dubai, for my birthday, I picked up this jar of Avene rich compensating cream from a pharmacy at the Emirates Mall. I had heard a lot of good things about the Avene thermal spring water, and the description on the product also convinced me to believe that it was like “magic in a pot” and contained all the goodness, so I thought of giving it a try.

My Experience with Avene Eau Thermale Rich Compensating Cream:

The texture of the cream is really thick and feels very heavy on the skin. Yes, it does moisturise the skin and has helped my dry skin really well! It has definitely made my skin softer and it hydrates, but I feel that it does clog the pores and breaks me out 🙁

It makes me sweat a lot and feels very heavy on the skin, I can’t even think of using it during summers, especially during the kind of summers we have here in India. I prefer to use it as a night cream as it is very greasy. It is just impossible to apply it under the makeup. I do not recommend it to use before applying your base. It also makes my complexion very dull. It does not skin into the skin and feels as if it’s sitting on the top layer of the skin and you can’t massage your skin with this cream.

I heard that massaging your skin for at least 5 minutes is very beneficial to get the glow back and keep wrinkles at bay.  So, I tried massaging my skin with this cream, but the cream starts to peel off in a weird and gross way. So you have to be careful and apply it as if you apply a face mask. Another downside is that it does not have SPF. So, you need apply sunscreen on top and also if I apply it around the eye area, it stings really badly. My eyes turn red and it irritates my eyes. All in all, it was a really bad experience with Avene.
