Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal Cream Review

Skin type: Normal to oily-acne prone and sensitive

Greetings everyone,

Today, I am here with a review on skincare product for acne-prone skin from Avene. I was on the hunt for a good treatment product that could actually work on my stubborn acne scars. Despite not popping or picking the pimples, my skin gets scarred easily. When I was looking, I came across TriAcneal cream from Avene. This is an improved version of Avene DiAcneal Cream, which has been discontinued a long while ago for having a patented ingredient. So, let’s move further with the review.

My Experience with Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal Cream:

Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal Cream Review Packaging Front

Packaging: The cream comes in a small white colored tube having a nozzle-type opening with a screw cap housed in an outer cardboard box. The packaging of the tube is sturdy and travel-friendly. All the details are written in French and I could not understand anything. However, the details are written in English over the outer cardboard box and that’s why I didn’t throw it away yet.

Texture and Fragrance: The texture of the cream is like of a whipped cream with a thick consistency that spreads quite easily. It has a pale yellow tint to it with almost negligible fragrance.

Usage and Results: Though it is directed to cleanse the face with the Cleanance Gel, I do not follow this step. Basically, according to the direction, you should opt for a soap-free cleanser to avoid any kind of skin irritation. I am currently using Sebamed Clear Face Wash and Kaya Soothing Cleansing Gel. Both of the cleansers are soap-free and I hadn’t faced any kind of irritation. However, if you have broken or irritated skin, then it will sting and burn like hell. Thus, it should not be applied on the picked or irritated skin in any case.

Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal Cream Review Directions

After cleansing in the evening, I apply TriAcneal to the dried skin. I do not use any toner or moisturizer beforehand. Only a pea size amount is enough if you want to use over the full face. It’s been two months of continuous usage and I still have half of the product left. Thus, a little goes a long way in this case. Since my skin was new to the product with glycolic acid, I used a very little amount every alternate day for a week to make my skin accustomed to it. The cream gets absorbed easily and does not stain the pillow cover. The next morning, skin is less oily and there is a subtle glow. In fact, one can feel the skin becoming smoother after the first week only.

Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal Cream Review Open

After the first week, I used it every night and didn’t face any irritation. I have used the cream for over a period of two months religiously and then discontinued. The main reason for discontinuing the cream is to see whether the results are temporary or permanent. After discontinuing the cream, I have been using a few products from The Ordinary.

When coming to the results, it effectively treats tiny zits. Regular usage has smoothened out the skin and it feels softer with each passing day. When talk about treating the dark spots, acne scars and blemishes, it took around a month to come up with the visible results. This cream has blurred the scars and eliminated the redness of the skin because of acne. It didn’t make my skin dry or flaky, maybe because I used it in summer when my skin is on the oilier side. Despite not claiming, it helps in controlling the breakouts to an extent.

Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal Cream Review Swatch

Currently, I am not using TriAcneal cream and my skin is now same as at the time I discontinued it. Thus, I can surely say that the results are not temporary and this is worth a try.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal Cream?
Although Avene TriAcneal cream is not a miracle product for treating scars and blemishes, still I would definitely repurchase it. It takes time to show the visible results, but it does improve the skin with each usage. I would definitely recommend if you get stubborn scars and find it difficult to treat them. However, you have to be patient.
