My Experience with Avene Rebalancing Soothing Emulsion:

As you know, I have already declared this product as my HG skincare product. The emulsion formula gets easily absorbed and feels light on the skin. Yes, I have an oily t-zone, but the rest of my face is super dry in winters; to such an extent that I start to have dry patches. I would use oil free products in summers, they work well for the t-zone, but aren’t sufficient for the rest of my face. If I start using a moisturizer, I end up having zits. Products with Salicylic Acid make my skin even worse.

Avene Rebalancing Soothing Emulsion Review

This emulsion is god sent for me. The texture is a bit on the thinner side. It is mildly perfumed, but that fragrance vanishes seconds after application. Only a pea sized amount is required and I am good to go. The emulsion spreads evenly on to my skin. I won’t say that it helps with my pore size reduction, but it does what no other moisturizer has ever done for me. It moisturizes my weird combination skin. I feel my skin being quenched of its thirst. It gets absorbed in less than a minute. It does not feel heavy, so if I want, I can follow it up with my sunscreen (I so wished it came with SPF, oh greedy me!!)

Avene Rebalancing Soothing Emulsion Review

The main thing that made me like it is that it settles with slight dewy finish on my cheeks, but is totally shine free on my t-zone. Since, it is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, I say it will suit sensitive as well as combination skin. I use their thermal spring water and it is probably the best that I have used. And Avene did not disappoint me with this one either.

I was under misconception that oily skin doesn’t need moisturizer, but I was wrong. Oily skin too needs moisture and I hit a few bumps before I found the best water based moisturizer. I am sure it will work for those who are ‘blessed’ with a weird skin type like me.
