Avene Soothing Moisture Mask Review

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Living in a cold country means having to deal with dry skin. People who normally have oily skin also sometimes have to deal with dry patches, that is the case with my skin.  I constantly need some comforting hydration even though I battle with oily skin problems. It can sometimes be confusing because you wouldn’t know whether you should invest in products for dry skin or oily skin. However, since I have been battling with pigmentation and occasional pimples for some time now, I know that my skin type is oily. So what I did I do to aid my dry patches? Today’s post is a review of the Avene Soothing Moisture Mask.

My Experience with Avene Soothing Moisture Mask:

I have been battling irregular acne for a very long time. So you can imagine how many acne products I have used in the past. It is much better now, thanks to the thousand products I’ve tried. However, using acne products constantly to remove the excess sebum and oil on your face means stripping your face off its natural hydration too. That’s when the issue of dehydrated skin comes into the picture. Dehydrated skin is tired, dull and has dry patches. Most people mistake it for dry skin type. Truth is, it is not possible for acne-prone oily skin to have dry skin.

Avene Soothing Moisture Mask

I purchased the Avene Soothing Moisture Mask about three months back and have been religiously using it. I didn’t expect instant results from it because I understand that changes to the skin are gradual. Healing is a time-taking process. I apply the product after exfoliating my skin and then leave it on overnight. Post exfoliation promotes better absorption. Ever since I started using this, I have observed that my skin is softer and kind of radiant. I am sort of dependent on this product as I have the best skin days on the day after I use it.

This product is the perfect pick me up. I use it on days when my skin feels extremely tight and dry. It nourishes instantly. I like how the texture isn’t sticky at all, but goes on smoothly and works on bringing life to your skin. This is intended for people with sensitive skin which means others with normal skin can use it too.

The product lives up to its claims except that it’s preservative free, obviously.  If you read the ingredient list, you’ll notice that it contains Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Phenyltrimethicone and Propylparaben. All of those are preservatives. That does not have to be a bad thing. A lot of products today claim to be preservative free. I believe it is impossible to make a packaged product that is free of preservatives. Without preservatives, no product would be usable.

Avene Soothing Moisture Mask

The Avene Soothing Moisture Mask is a great product not only for hydration but also to calm irritated, red or acne-prone skin. It is made with the Avene Thermal Spring water, so it carries its benefits along. Most hydration masks are really thick. I’ll tell you why this one isn’t. Because it is intended for people with acne-prone sensitive skin. It is advisable not to use heavy creamy products for acne-prone skin as it can clog pores. The Avene Soothing Moisture Mask does not clog your pores. It is also one of those masks that did not break me out.

Have you ever felt really dehydrated after a really long flight? I have! It is very common since we are in lack of oxygen while flying. Next time you are travelling, try using this product before your flight and leave it on. When you reach your destination, you’ll see how efficient the Avene Soothing Moisture Mask really is.

Would I Repurchase Avene Soothing Moisture Mask?
Yes, I definitely would. Some may feel it is expensive for the size and amount of product that we purchase. I am of the opinion that it is alright to splurge on products as long as it delivers results. I feel I need this in my life. It’s a permanent member of my rescue skin care kit.
