Today’s review is on a skin care product from the newly-relaunched range from Aviance. This serum is from the “White Intense Radiance” range. A number of other products from this range have been reviewed earlier on IMBB – like the Night Mask and the Day Gel. Let’s see how this one performed.

Bio-energised skin brightening complexes extracted from chamomile, witch hazel, green tea, aloe vera, mulberry, licorice, vitamins C and B3 and tetra peptides soothe and even skin tone, unveiling a rare radiance. The perfect prelude to the aviance day or night moisturising cream, this brightening serum relieves dehydrated and dull skin for improved texture and hydration. After cleansing you face, take a few drops of the face serum onto your fingertips and apply it over your face and neck. Its weightless formula will provide a daily dose of nourishment and protection with the skin-brightening concentrate, delivering visibly radiant and healthy skin. My Experience with Aviance White Intense Radiance Revive Advanced Serum:

Firstly, my skin type – I have oily to combination skin which gets dull and dehydrated very easily, due to my lousy eating habits and my horrid sleeping patterns. I am constantly on the look out for something to improve radiance and increase hydration. When it comes to skin care, I like to experiment with the serum I use, but not so much with the moisturizers. It’s not like I don’t try different moisturizers, but I am less experimental when it comes to them. This is because, my skin can react badly if the moisturizer clogs my pores – resulting in instant breakouts. Whereas, serums are generally more lightweight and have experienced that they are less likely to clog the pores (unless you react to some ingredient in them).

Coming back to the product in hand, this product is from the “White Intense Radiance” range. The product comes packaged neatly in a compact plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and a transparent cap. The bottle is further packed in a cardboard box with detailed information of the product and the ingredients. Further, this box is seal wrapped in BoPP. If you have been reading my reviews, you know how appreciative I am of companies who bother to maintain the hygiene of the product when it comes to packaging! Aviance had me at Step 1. The whole white packaging is kind of simple, efficient and aesthetically very appealing. The bottle is small enough to travel with (I mean over night stays).

The texture of the product itself is EXTREMELY lightweight! I cannot emphasis exactly how lightweight it is – it almost feels like water. Hence, it sinks in extremely easily, quickly, without leaving any messy, greasy layer. Now, since I have to over do things, I like to use this maybe a little more than is necessary. So, I over-apply it which leaves my face feeling a bit wet, which also means it will take it a few seconds extra to sink. In this time, I apply my moisturizer. I somehow feel, that this helps my moisturizer sink even better. Now, the question in your mind will be – if you over apply, the bottle gets over faster, right? Yup, it’s likely to. However, I have been using this once daily for more than a month, I still have about ¼ of the bottle left.

Coming to its efficacy – let me address the elephant in the room first – the branding of the product – “White Intense Radiance.” In a country (if not the whole continent) obsessed with fairness, the term “White” in a skin care product can be very gimmicky and misleading. The product is not a “whitening” product. In all fairness (pun intended), the brand isn’t making any claims towards whitening either. They haven’t said its going to make your skin “x” shades lighter, etc. The claims are more towards “radiance” and the product delivers on that claim. You will find your skin becoming more radiant, more healthy looking. It combats skin dullness. The anti-oxidants in the product further help with skin repair. So, the product does deliver on the claims laid by the brand.

However, do not have high expectations from the product – of whitening, of eliminating dark spots or blemishes, etc. It isn’t a targeted product. It’s more effective as something which elevates the general health of your facial skin. Again, the Company does not claim that it will do any of the above. I am still mentioning it because when we see a product branded as “White Radiance” – we are kind of likely to jump to conclusions rather than read the fine print.

• Nothing much – except maybe the choice of name by the Company! 😉

It’s a good product, which does not make tall claims. And does deliver effectively on the claims that it does make.
Lastly, I have come across some conversation about whether the serum is going to provide sufficient hydration to dry skin, etc – since it is so lightweight. Please note, it is a serum. It is not supposed to do the job of your moisturizer. It does not replace your moisturizer. A serum is supposed to be a more potent concoction with lighter formula to allow for higher penetration and deliver certain targeted results. It is not supposed to help seal – that is the job of a moisturizer! They are not interchangeable. Understanding this, is the first step to building a better skincare routine for yourself.
