Second

MY TAKE ON AVON DRY ENDS SERUM:

After my long wait, I finally got this product from my Avon representative. I was extremely excited to use this product as I am just crazy about anything that promises me long, thick hair! As I am trying to grow my hair out, I haven’t really cut my hair in a long time and hence my ends are really dry and I do have a few split ends. So, I thought this product might help me, but I was wrong. It does not really suit my hair type. In my opinion, this product is ideal for someone who has silky hair or manageable hair. This serum is not as oily as the other serums that I have used and this factor again does not suit me as I have really dry hair. The oiliness of a serum gives my coarse hair shine and makes it more manageable, but for someone with fine or limp hair, this factor would be highly desirable.

Third

So, I washed my hair, applied all my usual products and applied this serum as well and I blow dried my hair as usual. The only thing different in my hair routine was this serum. I found that my hair was a little rougher than usual and a tangled. There was no added shine neither did my dry ends feel nourished. It smelled really nice though. To me it smelled like grape ice cream or grape juice.  I feel that this is a hit or miss product as it has characteristics that suit some much better than the others. Unfortunately for me though, it was a miss.  I don’t really mind using this product, but it has done nothing great to my hair.

So, honestly only you can decide after looking at your hair type and what is it that you want.

PROS:

• It smells absolutely great. It is not a very strong smell.
• It does not make your hair feel greasy.
• It is inexpensive compared to other serums in the market.
• You don’t have to use a lot of product even if u have long-ish hair.

CONS:

• For me, it did not deliver what it claimed.
• It comes in a glass bottle, which I think is a big nuisance.
• When I took the bottle out of its pack, I noticed that the product had leaked. The product leaks even now if it is not kept upright all the time. My glass bottle is always oily due to this.
• You can only get it through a representative.
• It made my hair rougher than usual.

WILL I REPURCHASE THIS?

No, I will not. I think I wasted my money on this product as it does not suit my hair type.

  1. :yikes: sounds like a very disappointing product. i am planning to buy matrix biolage serum today…hope that works for me

  2. i have a hair straightener …can someone pls tell me what product to use before the straightener so that my hair gets damaged less

  3. i like the Loreal one..available in most parlours I think ..And the Matrix one..both are pretty good..I do use Livon too..helps a lot for me.

  4. Hey Sneha…

That’s bad that It didn’t work on your hair. I have been using the product since 3-4 weeks, and I found it totally amazing. Totally agree with your statement that, “this product is ideal for someone who has silky hair or manageable hair.” I have long but manageable hair, and may be this is the reason it suited me so well.

You can use the serum from Wella. I guess It’ll help u out 🙂

  5. Smells like ice cream and grape juice? Cool! I want my hair products to smell like that. 😀 My hair the same way though, dry and coarse, so this product probably won’t work for me either. Thanks for the review!
