Ayur Exfoliating Lemon and Honey Face Gel with Tea Tree Oil Review

Hello Ladies,

Ayur Exfoliating Lemon and Honey Face Gel with Tea Tree Oil Review

Today, I am going to review Ayur Lemon and Honey Face Gel with Tea Tree Oil.  There is a story behind me getting this in my kitty. Once I was talking to my sister-in-law about lemon and honey peel-off face mask from Ayur, which I used to use some 4 years back. Me and my friends use to love that, but later, maybe it got discontinued, as I don’t find it any more.  When we were talking about the peel-off mask, I guess my husband overheard it and one day when he went alone for grocery shopping, he bought this face gel, thinking that this was the product I was raving about to my sister-in-law.  I was happy that he remembered what I was talking and sad that he didn’t hear every thing. Anyway, as it was not a very expensive buy, I decided to keep it.

Price:

Rs. 60 for 100 ml.

Product Description:

Clears lifeless cells, dried sebum, sweat, pimples and acne. The presence of lemon helps in controlling excess sebum secretion while honey moisturizes and rejuvenates the skin tissues making complexion fresh and clean. Tea tree oil helps prevent pimples and acne.

Key Ingredients:

SLES, Tea Tree Milicaps, honey extract, lemon extract, menthol, fragrance, Aqua.

My Experience with Ayur Exfoliating Lemon and Honey Face Gel with Tea Tree Oil:

I keep this face wash in my yoga bag and use it after my classes. This one is a transparent gel with yellowish tint. It has very runny consistency, and I always end up taking more product than needed. It has some coloured beads also in the gel, but sometimes, it comes out and some times it does not.  It comes in an opaque white plastic tube with yellow screw cap.  This gel has a shelf life of 3 years.

It says that this face wash is for normal to oily skin. I have oily skin and this face wash never made my skin dry.  It gives just clean face, but I don’t get that feeling of deep cleaning. It takes more time to wash it off my face.  Even after 3-4 splashes, I still feel there is something on my face, which is not the case with other face washes.  The product claims to control excess oil secretion, but it does not work for me.  Just after an hour of washing my face, my skin gets shiny and oily.

Other than the peel-off mask from Ayur, till now, I have not found any product from them which made me go ga-ga about it, and this face wash is no exception. It worked just average for me.

Pros of Ayur Exfoliating Lemon and Honey Face Gel with Tea Tree Oil:

  • Leaves skin clean, removes all dirt.
  • No strong smell.
  • Does not dry out my skin.
  • Lathers well.
  • Economical.

Cons of Ayur Exfoliating Lemon and Honey Face Gel with Tea Tree Oil:

  • Very runny consistency.
  • Poor oil control.
  • Did no wonders for my skin, it just cleaned.
  • Flip cap would have been better.

  1. Awww how sweet of your hubby! 🙂 Even if the product was wrong, such a nice intention to surprise you! :))

I’ve never trusted Ayur products. Tried their toner, but I ended up with red bumps and that was the end of the Ayur legacy in my life. 😛 😀

  2. Awww that was so sweet of your husband Sweta 🙂 And its nice to hear that you go for yoga classes, that IMO is the best thing for your skin. Where do you live?

    1. Hi Sangeeta,
I go to the yoga class which is organized inside my office building, its only for the employees.
But I will ask my yoga sir and let you know if there is any other yoga class nearby. Though I heared of one in Jeevan Beema nagar, that will be very close for you.
Check for yoga classes on justdial… that should definetly help you 🙂
