Ayur Skin Care Lotion with Shea Butter Review
I picked this lotion when I was running out of stock of my HG Cetaphil DAM Ultra Hydrating Lotion. I found this in a nearby grocery shop and picked it just for the time until I get my regular lotion. I had used the cleansing milk and toner from Ayur and they have been good on my skin. So, I decided to give this a try temporarily, as its suitable for all skin types. So, let’s get onto the review.

My Take on Ayur Skin Care Lotion with Shea Butter:
The lotion comes in a sturdy white bottle with a flip open cap. The cap is tight enough and spill proof. I have carried it in my bag many times and no mess. The lotion is a white colored lotion with semi-thick consistency. I like creams being creamy, but not thick and heavy. This is okay consistency wise. It carries a pleasant fragrance, but mild. It lingers just for a couple of minutes and then there is no trace of the smell.
I use a coin-sized amount for my arms and the lotion spreads pretty quick and sinks into the skin. I apply it at around 7 as soon as I sit at my desk and my skin is well hydrated for the next 5-6 hours, after which I may need to re-apply. Now, the weather is scorching hot here in Chennai, I don’t feel the need to reapply. But I wonder if this would survive cold winters and provide the same level of hydration.
I was skeptical about trying this on my face, but for the review purpose I did. I took a pea-sized amount of the lotion and gently massaged. The lotion got absorbed in no time and I did not feel an oily residue on my face. There are a few lotion and creams that make you sweat the moment you apply them. This one did not. I have used it in the humid climate and I did not sweat and no greasy feel. I’m oily skinned and I was not sure how this would turn out on my face and to my surprise, my skin felt really soft and smooth I believe it’s the Vitamin E and Shea butter present in the lotion. Cetaphil used to make my face look like a oil pan, but this did not. The next morning I found my skin nourished and soft and thank God, no break-outs.
I have used it for the last 7-8 days and I’m happy with it. I will finish this bottle before I pick my HG one.
What I Like about Ayur Skin Care Lotion with Shea Butter:
- Mild fragrance.
- Light in consistency.
- Gets absorbed quickly.
- Keeps your skin hydrated for a pretty good amount of time.
- No oily/greasy feel.
- No break-outs so far on my oily skin.
- Dirt cheap and easily available.
What I Do Not Like about Ayur Skin Care Lotion with Shea Butter:
- May not be apt for winters.
Will I Repurchase Ayur Skin Care Lotion with Shea Butter?
Not really.
IMBB Rating:
4/5.
I would not say this is a must have lotion, but a good one at a very reasonable price. You may give it a try if you are looking for a lightweight lotion for the summers.

No Rama it’s not harmful, but its just that it is a bit too moisturizing in summers for sum skin types 🙂
