My Experience With Babyliss iPro 230 Steam Hair Straightener:

This product comes in a cardboard box well secured. All details are mentioned on the cardboard packaging and also a leaflet is provided inside with all details. I have frizzy curly hair which has been chemically straightened. But now the hair has grown quite a bit and they need regular straightening to match rest of the hair.

The styler is purple in colour. It’s also available in a few different colours. The look of the product is not the best. It looks quite bulky and old-fashioned. It is not very pleasing or stylish and sleek to the eyes.

But it has a lot of functions integrated into to it. I believe this makes it little bulky. Still, I expected it to be more stylish but am sure it would have cost more then. It also comes with a carry bag which is big enough and perfect for travelling with.

The plates of the styler are made up of Titanium ceramic coated heating bands and they do get heated up quickly. The temperature is also monitored evenly. It takes a little more than a minute to heat up to maximum temperature. Just one slide through the hair and is all set. I do not have to go over the hair strands again and again. I do not have very thick hair and it can be the reason too. The straightened hair looks very smooth and silky and shiny.
When gliding through the hair, it does not feel or get pulled or tugged.

There is something called ionic function associated with this product. It delivers up to 200,000 ions per cm³ to the hair via the smoothing plates. The negatively charged ions are distributed in the hair and enclose each individual strand. This reduces the frizz to a large extent.

This product has an interesting integrated water tank, which can easily be filled with water and oil-free care substances. The steam produced by the water moistens the hair and it works like a steamer iron box 
The intensity of the steam can be adjusted to 3 levels. No steam, medium steam and High steam. Since my hair is styled often and treated, I use the high steam.

One can choose a range of temperature setting from 170 to 230° C depending on the hair type. This is missing in the GHD. Since my hair is not very thick I use 200 or 215 ° C depending on how bad it is. There is a small slot of LED display, which shows the selected temperature. It also indicates when the selected temperature is reached.

There is also an integrated comb feature which I have never used and do not prefer to use. I feel comfortable using my own comb before using the styler. The height of the comb teeth can be adjusted in 3 positions depending on how thick the hair is.

The styler can be used on both dry and damp hair. I have used only on dry hair due to convenience. The steam makes sure that the hair has moisture making sure that perfect smoothness is achieved.

The straightening effect does last like 3 to 4 days which is really good.

Coming to the negatives, I felt that it’s much heavier than the sleek stylish GHD. If you have a lot of hair which requires a longer time to straighten, then your hands will surely hurt. I need around 10 to 12 minutes and is manageable. My hands are slightly tired and also not so comfortable holding it as its bulky.

I also found that the tip of the styler gets heated and can sometimes burn if not careful.
