Summer is officially here, and we all know that this is the time for everything fun under the sun. But experience has also taught us that we must take precautions when doing outdoor activities especially for extended periods of time. While we cannot control the harmful rays of the sun beating down on us, we have control on what we can do to lessen the harmful and damaging effects of sunburns.
We are all familiar with sun blocks and sunscreens for our skin, but what do we do to protect our lips? Yes, our lips are also vulnerable to being sun burnt just as they are susceptible to chapping during the cold, winter months. Thank goodness for a wide array of lip products ranging from normal protection to full coverage with other added benefits.
Banana Boat Aloe Vera Sunscreen Lip Balm with SPF 45 is spot-on. It protects and nourishes the lips. It contains Aloe Vera and enriched Vitamin E which provides sun protection coverage and hydration to the lips.
Price: I got this for $1.97, pretty affordable for this little goodie which can do a whole lot for our smoochers.
My Experience with Banana Boat Aloe Vera Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 45:
Banana Boat Aloe Vera Sunscreen Lip Balm comes in an easy to dispense and easy to apply tube – very handy and fits nicely in our pockets.
It has a very nice smell, definitely none of those distinct sunscreen smells. I don’t know if it is just me or the visual packaging but the smell reminds me of a banana. I tried this while running outside and it stood up against my sweaty upper lip. It also does not feel too thick and sticky unlike other lip products that I have tried. However, if you have this habit of always licking your lips, you may want to reapply this as often as necessary to maximize lip protection.
This sunscreen lip balm was put to the test on our recent trip to Nevada last weekend, where the temperature is a soaring 112 degrees Fahrenheit (or 45 degrees Celsius)! I am happy that during our entire stay there, I never had any issues with dry and chapped lips. I am also pleased that even though I have sweat trickling down my face, the product stayed put and still protected my lips and I only need to apply it twice the whole day.
Pros of Banana Boat Aloe Vera Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 45:
• Affordable and readily available.
• SPF 45, a very good protection!
• Smells nice.
• Sweat proof.
• Can be worn on top of lipstick.
• Not too glossy.
Cons of Banana Boat Aloe Vera Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 45:
• Limited flavor or scent. The other variant is the Sport one, I have yet to see a new one.
IMBB Rating: I give Banana Boat Aloe Vera Sunscreen Lip Balm a 5 out of 5 stars.
It definitely lives up to its promise of protecting the lips against the sun’s harmful rays. It is one of those practical buys that you will feel so happy about because it works.
