Banjara’s Kasturi Turmeric Skin Care Powder Review

Turmeric has been one of the most easily accessible beauty products in our kitchen and has ample benefits for the skin. But, food adulteration is one of the biggest issue with such products. Many of the manufacturers add artificial colour to turmeric to make it bright sunny yellow. And, I did not want to turn my face into a yellow paint ball. Hence, I got this ready to use face pack with kasturi turmeric as I hadn’t tried any turmeric masks previously. So, let’s see how my first trial with turmeric went!

My Experience with Banjara’s Kasturi Turmeric Skin Care Powder:

Banjara’s Kasturi Turmeric Skin Care Powder Review

I was very new to this turmeric pack because I have always stayed away from this kitchen ingredient because of its strong yellow colour. Hence, ignoring the real turmeric, I planned to get this powder of kasturi turmeric. It comes in a big white and a yellow box and contains 5 sachets in it. Each sachet is pretty big in size. It comes at a very low cost and the quantity is like really huge for the price. The sachets does not have any zip-lock system, hence if the sachet is one opened, it becomes very difficult to store it again. It has to be stapled every time I have to use it and that is super inconvenient!

The powder is bright yellow in colour and the powder is finely crushed too. It has a typical natural turmeric fragrance which is pretty mild. The powder can be used along with water, rose water, milk, curd or can also be used as one of the ingredients in some face pack. It mixes well with everything and forms a smooth paste. The application is easy and it does not drip down from the face once applied.

But, as it dried off I was scared that it would leave a yellow cast on my face. I usually keep it for a good time of 20 minutes and then remove it off with a sponge. But, when it stayed on my face, it caused a literal burning sensation and it irritated my skin a lot. My skin really screamed for water and my skin was screaming to remove it off. Hence, I couldn’t bear and took it off in 15 minutes. It came off easily, but did leave a super strong yellow colour on my face. I was looking even worse than a jaundice patient. I tried to remove the colour off with water but sadly not all colour came off. Hence, I had to use a cleansing milk and the second round was rose water and then finally the yellow colour went away from my face.

But, after all of the difficulties, the results were really good. My skin looked very clean and clear. It felt soft and looked really bright. It did give a nice, subtle glow to my face and made it look radiant. Also, I have noticed that my blemishes have reduced after some uses and the acne size has also reduced. It is a total mixed bag for me. I limit its usage, but even if you can bear the stinging sensation for the results, I still would not recommend it. So, concluding I would say that I have an acne issue and my skin is sensitive, so give it a try as it may react differently on different skin types, but I guarantee that the strong colour issue will be the same with everyone. So, think and then take your chance.

Pros of Banjara’s Kasturi Turmeric Skin Care Powder:

• Claims to be made up of pure kasturi turmeric
• Very affordable
• Cleans up the blemishes from the face and reduces acne appearance
• Gives a very natural glow to the face making the skin look more clear
• Easy to use

Cons of Banjara’s Kasturi Turmeric Skin Care Powder:

• Difficult to store
• The yellow colour is very strong and powerful and does not go away in the first wash
• It caused a lot of burning on my skin when applied
• I am not sure whether it is 100% pure because of the strong yellow colour

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Banjara’s Kasturi Turmeric Skin Care Powder?
No, I wouldn’t get it again because one pack contains 5 sachets which is really good quantity. The colour is too strong and the skin has to be rubbed in order to get the colour off. Instead, I would suggest to use normal turmeric and see if it has the same colour pay-off. Or, this pack has to be highly diluted with some other home ingredients in order to reduce the power of the color.

2/5

Conclusion:
I dropped it on my dressing table and the colour did not go off with water. So, you can imagine what would it do to your face. I already had it on my face and when my mom screamed that it wasn’t going off from the dressing table, my heart skipped a bit. I ran and took it off immediately. So, do not really try this because it can make you like a yellow smiley ball!

  1. Generally I’d recommend using Kasturi Turmeric at night, so you have two washes over a period of time to remove the yellowness. Also, generally, Kasturi Turmeric leaves less of a stain than normal turmeric, and doesn’t sting! I shall keep clear of this brand!

    1. Ohhh really? then i don’t know what was wrong with this.. it stained very badly that i had to literally rub my skin to get that colour off.. used cleansing milk and what not 🙁

  2. Oh no Saloni! Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I don’t have sensitive skin, and still I would not try it. We can definitely get amazing results with other kitchen ingredients, this is not required at all.

    1. Yes very true.. my usual kitchen turmeric does a better job and is not at all harsh on my skin.. that along with besan works good. may be i will just have to throw this away lol 🙂

  3. u mix it with multani mitti or with besan ifu apply directly u will hv a burning on ur skin
once i tried directly nd my skin is very sensitive i couldnt withstand dat burning sensation

  4. using haldi directly on skin can be scary.. specially on sensitive skin.. it is always advisable to use it in some face pack or mix it with malai or some other kitchen ingredient.. nice review dear

    1. Yes exactly.. i used it for the first time and it turned out to be worse.. i will have to surely mix it and try.. they should have mentioned na that use only a bit.. they told to mix water and apply.. i think they should try this lol 🙂 🙂 thanks a lot

  5. Hi, I am new in this page. But I can tell you one thing mix it with milk/curd/rose water. It will reduce the burning effect and when you wash it,use besan. First wash it with plain water then apply some besan and massage for 1-2 min. The yellow color will be gone completely. And it will give an additional glow.

    1. Yes i think i will do the same kichu 🙂 i will have to dilute it with something.. that idea sounds super good and anything for that extra glow.. will try it for sure 🙂

  6. Ooops Saloni! This sounds bad. I used turmeric on my face only once and it irritated my skin and the burning sensation lasted all day 🙁 So I never dared to put it on my face again!

    1. Yes thats the issue with turmeric.. it has so many benefits yet has be used with a lot of care and caution.. i will have to dilute it a lot now i guess.. sad it did soo bad to you and now me 🙁
