Banjara's Sunscreen Gel Enhanced With Saffron

Product Description:

Banjara’s Sunscreen Gel is enriched with saffron, novel, water-based sunscreen gel. It helps in protecting the skin from harmful ultraviolet radiations by keeping out the harmful rays of the sun. The formulation considerably reduces sun burn and other skin damages. The double advantage is that it helps in lightening the skin tone. It is equivalent to SPF 30.

Usage:

Wash your face well with warm water and apply a small amount of gel over the face and neck with your fingers avoiding eyes. You can see the effects as the skin gets firmer as the gel dries with the nutrient feed that protects the skin all day long.

My Experience with Banjara’s Sunscreen Gel Enhanced With Saffron:

The product comes in a very flexible plastic tub. The color of the gel is a lovely orange.  Except for the color, there is nothing saffron about it! When you open the lid, there is an aluminium foil that protects from product spillage, but this foil doesn’t stick to the package for a longer time.  In a week’s time, the foil paper came off.  The smell is very weird, there is no hint of natural ingredients.

The gel works very fine on the skin. It gets easily absorbed into the skin.  I have been using this product for more than 2 months and I still can use it for another month.  I apply it to my face, neck, full arms, and my foot and still a lot of the gel is still in there.

sunscreen gel

I bought this product when the sun was not so scorching hot and at that time, I found using this gel okay during my one-hour drive, but as days passed by, this product seemed to be of no use.  I started to get tan with this gel. It doesn’t lighten the skin as it claims.  Though the product claims to have SPF 30, I still wonder if it has any SPF value.

Pros of Banjara’s Sunscreen Gel Enhanced With Saffron:

  • It is only effective when the sun is not scorching hot.
  • Cost wise, it is reasonable.

Cons of Banjara’s Sunscreen Gel Enhanced With Saffron:

  • Doesn’t work when the sun is harsh.
  • Doubt its SPF value.
  • Artificial fragrance.
  • No ingredients list mentioned.
  • Does not live up to its claims.

IMBB Rating:

2/5.

  1. Akshatha, good review, but I generally do not like these gels, they are very sticky and my skin feels very oily 🙁

    1. Jomo I have seen so many Banjara products in Vijeytha..last time when I saw I was tempted to buy some of them but shunned as didnt know how they would be..My sis resides in Hyd n she buys her grocery from Vijeytha…. Me no coming there this year though 🙁 🙁

      1. oh…..you know….theres too much of banjara’s products down south…..hey, why you no come here :struggle:

        1. was planning to come in the month of June..but will be busy in the month of June… I wanted to go to Shilparamam again 🙁 🙁 and then Charminar market too.. everyone going but me noe going 😥 😥 😥

  2. Man, this one sounds terrible! :yuck: :headbang: Thanks for the review, Akshatha. I might have been tempted into buying this had I not read the review. :-/ Will stick to the usual Lotus sunblock.

  3. Hi Akshatha.. I see Banjara products whenever I go to Hyd at my sis’s place..I use it’s Rose Water I quite like it and I stock it too..

  4. I have the green aloe-vera sunscreen gel from Banjaras. And, as you said, I really doubt if it has any SPF in it. And no ingredients list :spank:
So, 2 days back I ordered for the Biotique red sandalwood SPF 50 sunscreen, and got my package from healthkart even as I am typing this comment :yahoo:

  5. me was catching up on sleep past 2 days.. 😛 😛 exams hai abhi 25th se 🙁 🙁 mum not allowing to switch on the lappy..she :spank: :spank: me .. me coming online chupke chupke 😥 😥 😥

  6. Oh it looks really promosing when i started treading it :stars: I always feel these kind of gels make ur face a little stick. That u can still take care off with a compact but on the body…its a stict no no for me :nono: Did it form a film on the skin like the usual gels do Akshatha :sidefrown:

  7. Never tried anything from this brand, bt this seems very bad product, I think sun screen lotions are best option rather than this sticky gels……

  8. Except for Banjara’s face packs, I dont think these gels are worth trying.. I have tried their cucumber gel and aloe astringent.. Its really waste.. :spank: did nothing and I doubt their percentage of herbal extracts too and ingredient list is not printed.. :yuck:

  9. A gel sunscreen??!! something different and abstract.. I just have a feeling that the gel could just melt off one’s face in the sun.. reminds me of one of those gatsby hair gel.. Baaad product!!! FAIL!! :spank: I have always found lotus herbal’s sunscreens very good.. give that a try..!!! :haanji: Thanks for the head’s up btw.. :))

  10. Baaad product…I have Nature’s Aloe vera gel which just sits on my skin(dont think it gets absorbed). And my skin looks more darker whenever I apply that. Though I hear good words about Aloe vera gel, never sure which brand is great
