My Experience with Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeshadow Blender Brush:

The Barbara Hofmann brushes have around 5 different series which vary in quality as well as cost. The brush I am reviewing today is from the Basic Series which is the lowest range in terms of price and quality.

packaging

The basic brushes are all black and the plastic used in making is not the best. They feel very light to hold. The thickness and the length are good enough.

brush

The bristles are dark black in color and are made of Asian pony hair. I normally don’t prefer animal hair as it’s difficult to maintain the brushes. I have washed it once and I noticed no fall. I just don’t have the patience to take the extra care for animal hair brushes. I generally wash my brushes once a week and use the same method for all. I just apply some shampoo and scrub it on my palm. Then rinse. They are as good as new. One advantage of having black bristles is the brush doesn’t look dirty even after few uses.

brush head

The bristles are not densely and tightly packed. If you closely observe the pictures, few of the bristles are already peeking out. So when picking and applying darker shades for blending, it gets on to places on eyelid where the dark pigmentation is not wanted. You can imagine the amount of time spent on correcting the same!
The brush doesn’t feel all that soft and nice on the eyelid during application. I feel that it pricks slightly whenever I use it. Overall, I am not at all satisfied with the product. It’s definitely not a good buy.

Pros of Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeshadow Blender Brush:

• Not expensive.

Cons of Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeshadow Blender Brush:

• Pony hair bristles (I personally don’t prefer animal hair brushes).
• Not so tightly packed bristles.
• Quality is not so great.

Would I Repurchase Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeshadow Blender Brush?
No, never. I made the mistake of ordering it online. Such products need to be bought in shops.

Would I Recommend Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeshadow Blender Brush?
I wouldn’t recommend you guys to go for it. I feel the quality is worse than a local drugstore brush. The price might be less but for a little more money you can find a good blending brush.
