This review will be on another product from the ‘Bareskin’ line by bareMinerals. I have used the bareskin foundation and the concealer both, and you can find their reviews here, on IMBB. This review will be on the bareminerals Bareskin Perfecting Veil in the shade ‘Medium’.
About the product:
A weightless, brightening finishing powder that blurs the appearance of fine lines.
What it does:
This utterly weightless finishing powder is formulated with light-reflecting optics to help diffuse the look of fine lines. Infused with lilac plant stems cells and vitamin C, it helps to brighten up the complexion, and a special blend of minerals absorbs excess oil and balances the skin’s texture.
My Experience with bareMinerals Bareskin Perfecting Veil:
The packaging is very simple, sleek and practical. The round compact has a glossy black finish and closes with a magnetic click. There is a different section for the puff. The puff is very nice and soft, though I do wish it had a ribbon strap in the back to hold it while applying. I usually use a powder brush and not a puff to apply powders, but the puff is a nice addition to have for on-the-go touch ups.
Texture and Look on Skin:
This is a very smooth, silky powder. It feels very nice on the skin. It is very lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy or caked up on the skin. It just becomes one with a skin and doesn’t feel like it is sitting on top nor does it get cakey. It does not make you look ashy either.
This powder does offer sheer coverage. I usually use this as a setting powder for my face and under eye makeup. It does an excellent job of keeping the area shine free and matte all day long. When topped over a creamy base, like a tinted moisturizer or a primer, it offers some coverage and makes your skin look more even toned, bright and polished. It makes your skin look airbrushed smooth by blurring pores and fine lines.
This powder comes in only 4 colors which is not a good range, but I was lucky enough to find an exact match for my NW22 skin tone in the shade ‘Medium’.
This powder sets my makeup in place and keeps it shine free for up to 6-7 hours even in super hot, humid weather. I have dry skin, so I don’t require as many touchups during the day for oil control, but my main issue is powder sticking to my dry patches which this product does not do. I feel like both oily skin and dry skin and everyone in between who enjoys matte finish to their skin will love this powder.
Overall: One of the best powders I have used. It is super lightweight, no cakey, non drying, gives a shine free matte finish all day and blurs the appearance of pores and fine lines. What more could you want! It also comes at an affordable price even though it’s from a high end brand. I will totally recommend this.
