Hope you all are in the best of your health! I couldn’t really believe that we are almost into June. This year has also passed-by just like a breeze of air. I hope God bestows His amazing grace on all of us as always. I am back here again with a lipstick review as lipsticks are my “Ride or Die” in the makeup world. Today, I am more than delighted to share my thoughts on the shade “Swank” from the bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Color Collection. There are a lot of shades to choose from in this collection, but I was attracted the most to “Swank.” Let’s see how it fared.

P.S.:I threw the outer cardboard packaging it comes in which lists more ingredients, but the product does claim that “This product is free of petrolatum and is vegan, gluten-free, and was not tested on animals.”

My Experience with bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lip Color Swank:
This lipstick comes in a typical transparent plastic tube with the brand name printed on the tube in black and shade name at the bottom of the tube. It comes with a flat paddle applicator unlike most other liquid lipsticks which have doe-foot applicators. This paddle applicator makes the application very easy and precise.
The shade, “Swank”, is described as a raisin color on Sephora’s website, but it definitely pulls more of berry warm undertones. As mentioned earlier, it definitely takes some time to settle down to a complete matte finish. It looks so flattering on my NC42 skin tone. It is perfect to wear on occasions where you don’t want a complete n*de lip but don’t want to go over the top by wearing a statement bold lip. I am in complete love with this color. I also believe that most of the shades in this collection might look washed out on dark skinned beauties. So, my suggestion would be to be first swatch the shade and try it on before buying.
It is not amongst those long-lasting liquid lipstick formulas. It is extremely comfortable on the lips and never dries them out. Hence, it definitely needs touch-ups throughout the day. It stays on for only 3-4 hours with light snack and drinks. It is neither kiss-proof nor transfer proof. I personally don’t mind reapplying because this is one of the best non-drying liquid lipstick formulas out there.
It almost has a whipped mousse-like texture and never settles into the fine lines on your lips. The formula goes opaque in two swipes on my dark pigmented lips. The fragrance is to die for. It has a very sweet cookie-like smell which might be a little too overpowering for people with sensitive nose, but the fragrance subsides within a few minutes of the application. Personally, I am totally in love with the formula as well as the shade.

Cons of bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lip Color Swank:
- Fades away with light snacks or drinks.
- Doesn’t settle to a complete matte finish quickly.
- Not transfer-proof or kiss-proof.

It meets my expectations really well and justifies the price tag. The quality is really good and doesn’t dig a big hole in the pocket. I wear this shade almost everyday. I would really want to try other shades from this range.
