My Experience with bareMinerals Multi-Tasking Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

After using the Bare minerals Original Foundation which I love so much, I decided to give other products from bareMinerals a try. So, of course what could be the next product to follow up a foundation- a concealer. The bareMinerals Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Concealer is a hit and miss for me. First, the coverage that this product gives is amazing! It is full coverage and will hide most of the problem areas on your face whether they are permanent like acne marks or simply temporary ones like that dreaded pimple that appears out of nowhere overnight. It also hides redness or discolorations that you may have, but there is where my issue with this product lies.

bareMinerals Multi-Tasking Concealer Broad Spectrum 3

I have fairly clear skin apart from some redness here and there, but I suffer from heavy dark circles (blame my genetics). I got this product mainly for covering that, but this is where the product fails. Due to its powdery nature, the application is very difficult for an area like the under eye. Its gets difficult to deposit it without it settling in the fine lines and creasing. It also gives a very chalky appearance. The way I do try to make this work for me for the under eye area is that I apply my regular creamy concealers and I dab my finger in the BareMinerals concealer and just dab it under my eye. This absorbs any extra creaminess or oiliness that might occur in the undereye area throughout the day and this technique just sets my concealer so well that it stays flawless throughout the day. So this is a very good “supporting” product, but I wouldn’t give it the Award for the “Best Leading” product.

My shade is medium with pink undertones, so technically the shade that would suit me is Summer Bisque, but I decided to go with Bisque because thanks to the articles I read on makeup tips, I thought the concealer should be always be a shade lighter than your skin tone. As you can see in the picture, this shade is definitely a shade lighte,  but this shade works for me in concealing any dark spots or blemishes on the face. It blends seamlessly over them and does not budge throughout the day.

I usually use this after I have applies my foundation with my bareminerals Maximum coverage concealer brush. and after application I buff the area where I applies this again with the foundation brush to blend the product even more so that the difference in the shade of my concealer and foundation aren’t to too noticeable.

The packaging is the same as with all minerals foundation which is not always travel friendly as it makes a huge mess when opened after a long journey of tripping around in your suitcase or purse. Quantity provided is a lot and for concealing, you don’t need a lot at one time. Price is a little on the expensive side, so I am not sure if I will repurchase this especially since it did not perform to my expectation in the area I needed concealing the most, that’s the under eye area.

Therefore, I will give this product 2 ratings:

For using on the face- 4/5
For using under the eye- 0.5/5
