This review will be on the bareMinerals Pop of Passion Lip-Oil Balm in the shade “Pink Passion.”
A lip balm that treats lips to decadent hydration and plush color.
What it does:
This oil-rich formula delivers vibrant color and slick shine with a comfortable color-stain. Treat your lips to this luxurious melt-in formula that’s enriched with passion fruit seed oil for intense hydration and vitamin E for nourishment.
My Experience with bareMinerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balm – Pink Passion:
Packaging: Comes in a standard lipstick tube. I like the fact that the outer tube reflects the color family of the lip color inside which makes it easier to grab the color you want out of the pile of lipsticks you might have.
Texture/Shade/Finish/Pigmentation: This product is like lip oils, which are so popular right now, in a lipstick format. When you apply this on your lips, it has a very lightweight slick/slippery texture that melts and glides on without any tug. It feels just like a lip balm on your lips. It gives quite a glossy appearance to the lips initially, but it does tone down to a sheen in about an hour of wear.
The pigmentation of these lipsticks vary according to the color. The color “Pink Passion” has a good pigmentatiomn and needs about 2 coats to yield a beautiful cool-toned Barbie pink color on my lips. This particular shade is not the most flattering against my warm-toned skin, but I can make it work with the right kind of makeup. I feel this shade will be most flattering on pale-light skinned girls.
It goes on evenly without streaking. Even with multiple coats, it does retain a bit of sheerness and translucency on the lips.
Feel on lips: This product is extremely hydrating on the lips, just like a lip balm. It smooths over and does not accentuate my fine lines or dry patches. My lips feel smooth and soft for a couple of hours even after this product has worn off. Hence this an ideal product for dry winter days and even on days you don’t want to wear too much makeup, but still want a hint of color on your lips.
Staying Power: The staying power is not super impressive. It performs a little better than your regular tinted lip balm as it does leave some color on your lips for 4-5 hours and leaves behind a slight stain. It will wear off faster if you eat or drink hence reapplication is necessary during the day to keep it looking fresh while adding a fresh coat of hydration on the lips.
Fragrance: This lipstick has no taste and has a very mild makeup-like scent which fades as soon as you apply it on the lips.
Overall, I am really enjoying this lipstick/lip balm hybrid. Though I prefer the shade “Plumberry Pop” over this, I still think this is a very pretty girly shade to have in your kitty. This product is a minimal makeup lover’s dream.
