Bare Essentials Avera Aloe Apricot Scrub Review

Basicare+Avera+Aloe+Apricot+Scrub+Review

I loved the Basicare Avera Rose Water because its so gentle, effective, and mild on skin and most importantly it does not sting like Dabur’s rose water.  I so much love Avera Rose Water that I have lost the count of the number of bottles I have purchased 😛 its so refreshing that I am going to stock it up for summers.  Coming to the scrub that I am reviewing today, I purchased it because of two things, it was from the same range as the rose water and secondly it claims to contain organic aloe vera.  Read on for more details:

Product Description:

Apricot kernels blended with certified organic aloe vera deeply exfoliate the skin by removing dead cells and other impurities. The mix of vitamin rich wheat germ, rice bran, sunflower, and safflower oils hydrate the skin from within and promote new cell growth. Apple cider vinegar works as a restorative skin tonic. Regular use of the scrub over time leads to a youthful and radiant looking skin.

Product Description

Price:

Rs. 139 for 50 gm.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis Miller, Stevia Rebaudiana, Withania Somnifera, Acorus Calamus, Bacopa Monnieri, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Ceto Sterile Alcohol, Liquid Paraffin, Preservative and Walnut Shell Powder.

How To Use:

Take optimum quantity of scrub and massage it all over your face in an upward circle motion for 2 to 3 minutes to remove dead cells.  Rinse it off with abundant clear water.

Walnut Scrub 1

My Take on Bare Essentials Avera Aloe Apricot Scrub:

This good-smelling mild scrub comes in a very small tub that is sturdy enough.  The fragrance of the scrub is very mild and on the lines of shaving foam.  This scrub claims to contain the goodness of organic aloe vera along with other vitamin rich ingredients.  The base is a very light creamy one with loosely spread walnut granules.  The scrub granules are mild and well rounded hence they are not harsh on the skin.  The scrub spreads nicely and working it on the face is very easy.  Since it claims to contain organic aloe vera and wheat germ extract, I keep it on for an additional 2 minutes and rinse it off.

Walnut Scrub 2

I love the effect it gives, clears off dead skin effectively leading to smooth skin.  Another factor is that it does not dry out the skin or make it stretchy.  In fact, there is no need to follow it up with a moisturizer.  You can use this scrub quite a number of times in a week because its very mild.  For body, the quantity is too little and would last for only two or three times.  I was searching for common names of the ingredients mentioned on the pack and found that this scrub contains ashwagandha, Brahmi, sweet leaf.

Walnut Scrub 3

One thing that got me confused is that though the scrub claims to have “apricot kernels,” I couldn’t find it in the ingredients list, isn’t that strange? I found walnut shell powder instead, so they have messed up with “walnut” and “apricot.” 😛

Walnut Scrub 4

Summing up the pros and cons of Avera Aloe Vera and Apricot Scrub:

Pros of Bare Essentials Avera Aloe Apricot Scrub:

  • A very mild scrub in a light creamy base.
  • Scrub granules are not harsh.
  • Can be used on a regular basis.
  • Smells nice.
  • Claims to contain organic aloe vera and a host of other good ingredients, but the main ingredient “apricot” is missing from the list.
  • Does not dry out the skin, moisturizes.

Cons of Bare Essentials Avera Aloe Apricot Scrub:

  • This scrub claims to contain apricot, but it is missing from the ingredients list.
  • Its too small a quantity, you would have to get another tub quickly if you like this.

Would I Repurchase Bare Essentials Avera Aloe Apricot Scrub?

I would love to get it again, but somebody from the brand please explain the “apricot” quotient.
