Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper

Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper

Hi Everyone,

Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper

Today, I am going to review oil blotting sheets from Basicare.  I have super oily skin which is prone to acne, so I am constantly on the lookout for some oil blotting sheets. As the day progresses, my face starts becoming like an oil pan and it is essential for me to blot the excess oil. I find Basicare products to be reasonably priced and worth the money, so this time, I ordered their oil blotting sheets. Let’s take a detailed review of the same:

Product Being Reviewed:

Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper – Natural Lavender.

Price/Packaging/Quantity:

INR 145 for 100 sheets. The sheets come in a transparent pouch in a cardboard box packaging which has a flap to open. The entire thing is greyish blue in colour. The packaging is simple and user and travel friendly.

Basicare

Product Description:

  • Removes excess oil.
  • Glossy on both sides, double efficiency for facial oil blotting.

My Take on Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper:

These sheets are light purple in colour or can call it a lavender shade. They are thinner than a butter paper and are translucent to look at, and a little wider than a 5 rupees note. As far as their efficacy goes, I am not much impressed. Although they do absorb the oil, but not as nicely as the other blotting sheets that I have used. My face doesn’t get a matte feeling and after half an hour or so, I again feel the need to blot the excess oil. True to the company’s claim, they are glossy on both sides and either side may be used to wipe off the oil. There is no fragrance whatsoever in these sheets. One more point worth mentioning here is that, I need at least 3-4 sheets in one go to wipe off the excess oil from my face.  People who have overactive sebaceous glands would need even more sheets. The product as such did not cause any irritation to my sensitive skin (read highly acne prone).

Summarizing the pros and cons:

Pros of Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper:

  • Reasonably priced.
  • Soothing lavender-coloured sheets which are weightless and odourless.
  • Did not cause any irritation on my oily and acne-prone skin, neither was acne condition aggravated.

Cons of Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper:

  • These sheets do not absorb oil nicely.
  • Does not make the face matte in appearance.
  • Many sheets are needed in one go to blot the face.
  • I could not find the list of ingredients.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Basicare Facial Oil Blotting Paper?

No, neither will I repurchase nor will I recommend as they are not very effective in blotting oil. Instead, I would suggest Palladio Rice Paper sheets which are by far the best I have used in this category (not available in India, but can be purchased from ebay).

  1. Nice review Shivani and Happy married life!… I had Neutragena oil blotting sheets which were super efficient…now that its over I am on the lookout for another brand its not available in India… thinking of checking out the TBS oil blotting sheets… anyone has used it?

  2. Oh…..Neutrogena I have not used but tried once and are real good….come in a pack of 30, don’t remember the price….are these available in India, the basicare ones?

  3. I have used bith TBS and basicare oil blotting paper. I think both have same effectiveness. But the size of basicare oil blotting paper is double that of TBS. I need 4 TBS sheets while 1-2 basicare sheets are enough.I think basicare oil blotting paper are more economical.
