Sadly, sale season is over now and it is time when new arrivals have rushed in the stores. My father used to ask me a few days back “Beta, why do you have to keep purchasing stuff when you don’t need anymore?” I used to say “Papa, it is the sale season, things are at big discounts.” Now, he asks “Honey, your sale season is over na, now why do you have to shop?” and my reply is “Papa, there are new arrivals at the store, how can I miss on them?” 😛 Papa- “ Is there any time when you do not have to shop?”. Me- “Uh.. vo..umm…actually…” and me disappears. 😛 😛
Is it the same story on your side too 😛 Okay now, coming to today’s review; I bought this nail buffer and shiner online. It is my most favourite tool nowadays. Read on to find more on this.
Ultra Nail Shiner with low and non-abrasive coating that gives you super high shine finish. This nail buffer is specially designed to diminish wear of nail bed thereby making your nails not only shinier but also stronger.
How To Use:
Step 1: Buff (Green)
Buff over nail in circular motion to smoothen ridges and remove any staining.
Step 2: Polish (White).
Polish across nail gently to achieve ultra-shining nail.
My Experience with Basicare Ultra Nail Shiner:
This nail shiner comes in the usual Basicare pouch that needs to be cut at the back to take the product out. It has two sides – one is the light green one which is used to buff the nail surface, the other is white and its to be used as a polisher.
The nail buffer I was using before this was too harsh for my nails. More than removing the stains, it used to wear off my nails making them shine-less and powdery white. So, I decided to change. This Basicare tool proved to be just as good as I thought it would be.
The green side which is the buffer is intended to be used in circular motions on the nails. I do not know when I will learn to use it in a circular motion; I used it in a swiping way in one direction. This buffer does its job quite well and is mild on the nails. It removed a bit of yellowish discoloration that comes when we repeatedly change our nail paint one after the other. At the same time, it was mild and did not rip the lustre off the nails.
After buffing the nails, I used the white portion in a similar swiping manner. This time, I was totally impressed. I just swiped it on my nails 2-4 times and it made them as shiny as they look on being topped with a glossy coat. I am not at all exaggerating. It really makes your nails look all glossy just like you have put a glossy coat. Moreover, the shine remains for a few days and not just a few hours. I thought maybe it would go off after washing hands or so, but nothing of the sort happened.
There also comes this wooden stick along with the nail shiner; it is cuticle pusher I think. I never felt the need of a cuticle pusher, so I cannot comment on its efficacy.
So overall, I love this product and now I keep searching for an excuse to polish my nails again and keep looking at them 😛
Pros of Basicare Ultra Nail Shiner:
- Buffer does its job quite well.
- It is not harsh on the nails.
- Removes occasional yellowish tinge of the nails.
- Polisher makes the nails look shiny similar to that of a glossy coat.
- The shine remains for days.
- Can be easily stored in the same pouch.
- Can be carried around in the handbag too.
- Reasonable price.
Cons of Basicare Ultra Nail Shiner:
- None at all.
Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Basicare Ultra Nail Shiner?
Yes for both. You would not find a better nail shiner according to me.
