My Experience with Bath and Body Works Fresh Sparkling Snow Body Lotion:
Starting with the packaging – Bath and Body Works Fresh Sparkling Snow body lotion comes in a transparent plastic bottle. The bottle has a push-top cap. The bottle is sturdy, but huge to be carried along during travels. This fragrance, sadly, does not come in travel size. The packaging is quite simple compared to other fragrances that I have reviewed recently. It has a simple “glittery snowflakes and flower design” against a blue background with a shiny silver cap. The packaging is very simple and functional.
The consistency of the body lotion is medium, neither very thick nor very runny. It spreads well and gets absorbed easily into the skin. The lotion does not leave my skin greasy, but very smooth, moisturized and hydrated. Bath and Body Works claims that the body lotion provides moisture for 16 hours and it does keep my dry skin hydrated for the whole day without making it greasy at all. Dry areas of my body like elbows, knees and feet do need an additional dose after some time.
This body lotion contains moisture-rich ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil, glycerin, aloe and Bath and Body Works’ exclusive complex of Vitamin E and B5 which protect and condition the skin. With the goodness of so many ingredients, the bad part is that it contains parabens as well. 🙁 It is high time that Bath and Body Works start reconstituting their formulation and stop using parabens.
As per the claims and name, “Fresh Sparkling Snow,” I had expected its fragrance to be something fresh, clean and something like rain or like a walk outside in the snow, but that’s not the case, it doesn’t match the name. Also, I cannot smell any trace of snow-covered pine, musk or moss. It has a berry scent which is not overly sweet and does smell fresh and clean and not too strong or artificial. Also, I feel that the scent is unisex, so can be used by women and men alike.
