Today, I am reviewing a body lotion from Bath and Body Works – it’s the Bath and Body Works Golden Magnolia Sun Body Lotion. This fragrance was launched last year as part of their Sun, Air and Sky collection. But I picked up products from this collection only a few months ago (when there was a major sale running :P). Since, it was winter, I was using their body creams. With spring just around the corner, I have started using the body lotions recently. Read on to find out more about this lotion.
$12.50 for 8 fl oz./ 236 ml, but Bath and Body Works products are typically on discount all year round.
Golden Magnolia Sun is a luminous blend of Pink Magnolia, Golden Apricot & Peony with a touch of Vanilla and Cassis nectar. Infused with Shea Butter and our exclusive Daily Moisture Complex, our enhanced lotion contains more of what skin loves, leaving it feeling incredibly soft, smooth and nourished. Fortified with nutrient-rich ingredients like protective Vitamin E and conditioning Vitamin B5, our fast-absorbing, non-greasy formula delivers 16 hours of continuous moisture.
How To Use:
Add a generous amount to palm and smooth over skin.
My Experience with Bath and Body Works Golden Magnolia Sun Body Lotion:
Packaging: The body lotion comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with an attractive pink, golden and yellow print on it. The imagery is very girly and delicate. I love it! The bottle has a golden cap which also dispenses the lotion.
Fragrance: I own quite a few Bath and Body Works fragrances, but this one has to be my favorite till date. The fragrance is just heavenly and is a lovely combination of floral and vanilla. Sometimes, these kind of fragrances get too heady or nauseous, but this one is pretty light. The smell stays on my body for 2-3 hours and I typically like to layer on the fragrance by using the body mist from the same collection. For your reference, the body mist has been reviewed on IMBB here.
Texture and Performance: The body lotion has a slightly runny consistency which is typical of lotions. It is easy to spread on the skin and also gets absorbed easily. It does not make the skin greasy, but does the job of moisturizing pretty well. It leaves my skin soft and supple. I guess it is the shea butter in the ingredients which does all the good work.
A word of caution – this lotion might not be a good option if you are experiencing very dry skin. It would be better to try out a body cream from the same range in such a situation.
To summarize, this body lotion is a very good option to keep your skin hydrated and well-nourished during the spring/summer months. The heavenly fragrance is just an added bonus 🙂
