I have always had sleep issues. At times, I drop on the bed, fall off to sleep immediately, and sleep like a log. You start beating drums around me, and I won’t wake up!! At times, I might not have any stress, I might be tired and dying to go to sleep, but I am just not able to do so! By the time I actually fall asleep, it is time to get up!! I have tried en number of tips and tricks, and not many have worked out. Then, I bought the product that I would be reviewing today – “Bath and Body Works Lavender Chamomile Sleep Body Lotion.” Let’s see how this one fared.

My Take on Bath and Body Works Lavender Chamomile Sleep Body Lotion:

I simply love mild scented lotions by BBW!! The number of variants available on the shelves is amazing! The Aromatherapy range by BBW has products under ‘Stress Relief’, ‘Energy’, ‘Sensual’ and “Sleep.” The products for “Sleep” include pillow mist, body lotion, hand soap, body cream, luxury bath, body wash and foam bath, bath soak, sugar scrub, massage oil and body mist!!! Phew! That’s an impressive list! These products are available in two fragrances – Lavender-Vanilla and Lavender-Chamomile. I had picked up this travel sized bottle a long time ago. Probably the packaging has changed a bit now.

The “blue body black cap” bottle is really cute and travel friendly. It is a complete no-frills kind of packaging, but I still find it adorable. It has the usual BBW flip open cap. Totally spill proof! The description of the fragrance and lotion, complete list of ingredients are mentioned on the bottle. These travel-sized bottles (shower gels and mists as well) are really convenient to use and are simply PERFECT while on the go! BBW often has mix and match deals on shower gels, lotions and mists, wherein, you get 3 travel sized bottles for $10 or $12!

The lotion is white in color and has the perfect consistency – neither too runny nor too thick! And does it smell AWESOME or what!!!! OMG! I love the fragrance! It is seriously the best thing about this product! Probably, the number of exclamation marks in the last few sentences indicates how much I love the smell! I love mild lavender and this lotion has just the right amount of lavender – neither too mild nor too overwhelming. I am not sure how exactly chamomile smells. So, can’t really comment on that. But overall, the smell is really soothing, calming. It totally relaxes me. It stays on me for a really long time – longer than the other lotions by BBW. I apply this lotion at night and I can smell it on my skin even the next morning. It is extremely hydrating, non-greasy, gets absorbed easily and keeps skin soft for long hours at a stretch. It works well even in extreme winter. It gives me a very warm fuzzy feeling! Just like cozying up in a warm blanket on a snowy day!

Coming to the claim of enhancing sleep or having a lulling effect – it does not work much on this factor. It is definitely calming. It might help in reducing stress and inducing positive/relaxing thoughts, but considering the claim of enhancing sleep or helping me sleep early, it does not do much on this front.

• Cruelty free – not tested on animals.

Cons of Bath and Body Works Lavender Chamomile Sleep Body Lotion:

• Expensive if you buy this in India.
• Though calming, it does not do much in enhancing sleep.

Verdict:

I LOVE this!! It makes me feel so calm and nice! It is perfect to be applied after a quick shower at night and just before jumping into bed. It did not help me in sleeping better or early, but it might work for some. Irrespective of whether it works on this front or no, try this lotion for the fragrance and the relaxing effect it has. I am so sure I would be buying the shower gel, pillow mist and body mist soon!!!
