While growing up, winters were always a mixed bag for me. It gave an opportunity to layer a lot of clothes and style them up, drink steaming hot chocolate while basking in the sun, and to enjoy the cozy winter nights in a warm blanket. But it also brought in really short days with drop in productivity, very cold nights which turned painful during exam time, excessive morning lethargy and dry stretchy skin. You would miss the nice sunny days of a beach vacation, roaming around in shorts and sarongs while sipping coconut water! Well, you cannot run off to a vacation every winter, but you can always bring back the memory with a sweet scent! Bath and Body Works MAUI Hibiscus beach may just achieve this for you if you can identify with the smell!
Singapore $12 (during sale) or roughly INR 580/- for 236 ml. Online site sells it for $8.95.
The sturdy ubiquitous lotion bottle of BBW prevails here too. With a blue chrome colour of the cap, it gives it a stylish look. The dispensing cap is firm and well secured on the opening of the bottle. The bottle itself is transparent and advantageous to know the leftover product level.
My Experience with Bath and Body Works Maui Hibiscus Beach Body Lotion:
Imagine flowers in one hand – summery kind and fruits in another – sweet, tangy. Put your hands together- and we have MAUI! It’s not citrusy and it lets the flower and fruit notes alternate when you take a deep inhalation. You get a fresh whiff and feel cheered up to start something. BBW lotions are famous for their staying power. For testing, I applied it over a continuously exposed part of my hand. After 3 hours of application, my hand still gave a tiny hint of fragrance.
The lotion is white in colour and comes out non-runny on the skin. It is not at all thick and gentle smearing also makes it spread out on the skin. Blending is not at all difficult and you are left with a non-greasy feeling after application.
Though it claims of 16 hours of continuous moisture, I couldn’t put that to test. On a cold day, I would love to slather it all over my arms and legs, pack them in woolens for daytime and come back to a still nourished and non-stretchy skin by evening. However, my summer routine with this would be totally different. I would prefer to wear it as a thin layer coupled with an unscented gel sunscreen for arms. The shea butter and Vitamin E may be good mates during winter, but I prefer to keep them at bay during summer to avoid unnecessary sweating and stickiness, but this behaviour is due to my fairly oily skin. Dry skin ladies can lap it up with slightly more enthusiasm in winter and summer!
Pros of Bath and Body Works Maui Hibiscus Beach Body Lotion:
- Refreshing smell of subtle flowers and sweet fruits.
- Good moisture for skin during winters without the greasiness.
- Quick absorption and nourishment to the skin.
- Smells lingers for a considerable time.
- Sturdy packaging but bulky for travel.
Cons of Bath and Body Works Maui Hibiscus Beach Body Lotion:
- Availability in India.
