My Experience with Bath and Body Works Velvet Sugar Ultra Shea Body Cream:

I guess the very first reason why someone would buy this product is because of its physical appeal. It comes in a glossy pink-maroon tube packaging with ‘Velvet Sugar’ written within a pink heart. I personally find the packaging very appealing and it makes the product stand out in the aisle.

Like the previously reviewed Forever Sunshine Triple Moisture Body Cream, this one’s consistency is also thick and is buttery in appearance. The product claims to contain lot of mid tones, top tones and dry tones, however, the smell of wild berries is predominant and all other fragrances mentioned in the product description seem to be wild exaggerations. But, whatever said and done, it smells very nice and is pleasant for our olfactory senses.

Since it is very moisturizing, I find this product ideal for dry skinned people. But, the name body cream is little deceiving because it is more of a body butter in tube packaging. It is not runny in consistency like the usual body lotions. It is easy to blend and gives instant sheen and hydration. The skin stays shiny and hydrated for at least a few hours. This is more than sufficient for me and hence, I can say that the product’s efficacy is quite commendable.

The biggest challenge in buying such products is to choose the right fragrance because inside the store, the SA usually floods one’s nose with multiple samples. The smell of the alcohol becomes quite dominant and ends up giving headache. From my past experiences, I have learned to go shopping with a genre of fragrance in mind.
