Be A Bombshell Bora Bora Eyeshadow Quad Review

By Pamela Dasgupta

Bonjour everyone!

So how’s everyone enjoying the drizzle? I personally freak out in this rainy season, get wet in the rain like anything and then get SICK! But, that’s not going to stop me from reviewing my latest purchases. Today I’m going to introduce an eyeshadow quad called Be A Bombshell Eye Shadow in Bora Bora. Last week, I somehow went on a shopping spree and bought a lot of different things including dresses, makeup, skincare, shoes, etc. for my husband and myself (to sort of bribe him). ;). I came across this eye shadow and the colors looked so bright and vibrant that I purchased it instantly.

My Experience with Be A Bombshell Bora Bora Eyeshadow Quad:

Packaging:
The eyeshadows come in a sturdy round palette, which has a transparent lid with the brand name printed over it and a black base. It is enclosed in a black box on which you find other details about the product. The package is cute and very travel friendly. The only thing it lacks is an applicator, and it’s a big drawback for an eyeshadow as I think everyone likes to keep an applicator handy when travelling.

Shades:
The eyeshadow quads from Be a Bombshell come in 4 different shades called New York City, Madrid, Bora Bora and London. I chose to buy Bora Bora shade as others looked quite dull.

My quad has 4 colors:
Brown
Turquoise
Gold
Copper

The shades looks very shimmery when in the box, but after application they don’t shine a lot, so that’s a plus point for me as I’m not very keen towards shiny and sparkling shades. The shades, I find, are not well pigmented, keeping the price in mind. You have to apply it twice or even thrice to get perfect color. I have a thing for eye makeup and have a good collection of eye shadows, from Lakme to MAC, hence judging the price and the pigment, it’s not up to the mark!

Staying Power:

With Eye Primer:
My eyelids get oily in 3-4 hours of makeup application, so I mostly try to use an eye primer which helps a lot to keep the colors in place for longer. I use Inglot Eye Makeup Base, which really works for me. So I apply the copper and turquoise color over it and went out for a long day. The color stayed well for around 4 hours with touch up, and it went all the way till evening. So it can be said that it stayed well.

Without Eye primer:
I’m well aware that there are ladies who don’t have that much time for elaborate makeup session every morning, hence I tested this eye shadow without using primer as well. For me it stayed for around 2 hours as it was applied, but then it started fading away. And I would also like to mention that during application it created quite a mess and dropped on my cheeks, so I had to brush it away later. So those who have no intention to use it with a primer, this eyeshadow is a fail.

As an Eyeliner:
As mentioned on the website, it can be used as an eyeliner with wet applicator, so I tried that as well. To be frank, it no way works as an eyeliner, even when used with a primer!

Verdict:
This eyeshadow from Be A Bombshell is not for those who wants to use it without a primer. Even if you are using it with a primer, the staying power is almost same as a Colorbar or Lakme 9 to 5 Eye shadows, which comes at a much cheaper price, is better pigmented and are easily available. So why should we go for this?

  1. My sister has it Pamela, she had received it as a sample. And, I absolutely loathe it. For this price, the packaging is cheap and the colors look kinda gaudy too me, of course lack of pigmentation and staying power are big time turn off!

    1. Shikha, at least she didn’t wasted 1200 bucks on it… We sometime get carried away by the product description and pics on the website, that is what happened with me.
